Woodrow phoenix

His work is inspiring to me because he has such a wide variety of styles. The way he captures emotion to guide readers through his material is amazing, He uses quite bright colour and simple forms to create his characters. I admire how his work has catered to severn different genres with out changing his style or thoughs. He has also collaborated with other artists and writers which i think has broadened creativity even more, He has had one of his comics published quartly in japan. I have learned a important lesson from looking and reading about Woodrow phoenix’s work and thats to feed your creativity visit places, talk to people, work with people, this can massively inspire your work.

Will Eisner

Its interesting for me to see from near enough the beginning where comic art has derrived from. His style of illustration lets me know that he spent many days and nights experimenting developing characters and stories. “The spirit” possibly his most famous character, the story is full of so much action and wonder that created exciting scenario’s and illustrations . He was very careful and thought beyond his years when he was creating his characters, his work shows me that a great story and powerful illustrations to compliment it can make your work stand the test of time .

Paul pope

One of the things i like about Paul popes work is the way he conveys movement, with flowing lines and positioning. His balance of detail and positioning within his work constructs mechanical illustrations for a overall more realistic finish. He has quite alot of fantasy futuristic style work also, which demonstrates both skill and imagination. I admire his approach to conveying ideas in such a detailed way, and technical skills.

Lou Fine

Classic comic artist, simple ideas man versus beast created great front covers and pages in his comics. His work is another example of a interesting story that influence exciting visuals, he created movement on his page just from using composition, its like looking at a paused action film. Along with tremendous technical drawing skill he also used colour very well, nice bright front covers like the one bellow.

Bernard Krigstein

He was very experimental, with different styles and stories, from horror to philosophy. He pushed his abilities to the limit in a short amount of time, that is a important lesson for me to try different things creatively and not be afraid to make mistakes. Again he was another artist who knew how to compose his illustrations to create a scene..

The Fabolous Fury Freak Brothers

I think the story is funny and it was cleverely made, three different characters with similar interests, getting into mischief on almost a daily basis. The characters all have very different distinct features that match there personalities well i.e grump, sleepy, happy. I like all of the real scenario’s dealing with bordom, messy inconsiderate roomates, its easy to relate to.

Marvel comics

Marvel comics has made a great impact on the world in comic form to cartoons and now films, it has been a truly remarkable breakthrough. The variety of stories and characters have always been interesting to me especially as each character has a deep background thats essentially makes more comics. Another part of marvel comics i like is the different types of hero’s, some are just out for revenge, some feel it is there responsibility to save the world.

Afro samurai

This is one of my favourite narratives because it offers so much a deep varied story, action, philosophy, tradition. Afro samurai is motivated by revenge for a character who killed his father when he was young, so he becomes a anti hero. There are parts in the story where there are traditional samurai fights sword against sword and there are other parts where the sword meets the gun.

Trio’s

In films in comics and cartoons trio’s seem to work very well, i think because they can work off eachother. Leaders or stronger characters that demand alittle more attention then the other two characters might include, shrek, harry potter, Riggs,.
