    The Illinois Teacher Salary Study is conducted annually. Pursuant to Section 2-3.103 of the Illinois School Code, this publicationcontains information on teacher salary policies, salaries paid, and fringe benefits. Data in this report are presented in two sections.Section I contains tables with statewide summaries. Section II includes data for each reporting district.

    This report is disseminated in electronic form. It is available online at http://www.isbe.net/research/htmls/teacher_salary.htm. All

    data contained in this report were provided by districts through the Teacher Salary Study survey.

    This section contains information on teacher salaries and selected fringe benefits for all regular school districts, area vocationalcenters, and special education cooperatives.

    The 2012-2013 Illinois Teacher Salary Study form was completed and submitted by superintendents of Illinois school districts anddirectors of area vocational centers and special education cooperatives. The scheduled salaries reported by superintendents anddirectors that are presented in this study are for the regular school year (180-185 school days), for regular teaching duties, andinclude the Teachers Retirement System contribution. The scheduled salary summary tables presented do not include additional payreceived by some teachers for: (1) extra duties, (2) extended school year employment, or (3) longevity service that is reported as aseparate data item.

    Information for regular districts in Section II is presented by district type (elementary, secondary, and unit) and size. The sizecategories, in terms of student enrollment, are as follows:
