Because ISBE can collect these data by other means, verifying the SIS “Enrolled in Home District/School On or Before May 1” indicators for

PARCC, SAT, and DLM-AA is unnecessary.

Math Text-to-Speech

16

• Determine Who Should Have this Accessibility Feature Students should have the math assessments read to them in the

classroom on a regular basis. Determine the use of text-to-speech on a case-by-case basis; do

not apply this accessibility feature universally.

• How Text-to-Speech Works in TestNav Students must click a button on each item to activate the text-to-

speech functionality. Text-to-Speech requires a significantly higher amount of bandwidth. Data indicate that a large number of students use this accessibility

feature only at the beginning of the test.

Incorrect Accommodations Online Assessment

• Prevent this from happening by checking the accommodation in PAN before beginning testing.

• Voiding a unit does NOT re-set the accommodations.

• To re-set test with correct accommodations, you must:(1) mark the test complete, (2) void the test, and (3) assign a new test with correct accommodations to the student.

SAT Assessment Pre-ID in SIS• SAT Pre-ID is available now; it includes all currently-enrolled

grade 11 students who are not automatically included on the DLM-AA Pre-ID.

• SAT Pre-ID will adjust in real time as students are enrolled and exited from SIS, so it can be used as a roster to plan for testing.

• SAT Pre-ID data will be captured from SIS on January 26, 2018, for printing Pre-ID labels and determining quantities for materials, including regular test books, answer sheets, pre-administration materials, and manuals.

• Only RCDTS codes of established schools should be used in the “Testing School” field, as the “Testing School” field identifies the location that will receive materials.

SAT Assessment Pre-ID in SIS• Pre-ID labels will be printed and mailed to the school listed

as the “Testing School” in the SAT Pre-ID report.

• If the “Testing School” is not established, ISBE will edit the “Testing School” to the student’s “Home School.”

• SAT Pre-ID data will be captured on April 10, 2018, to be used for the SAT Assessment Correction file.

Note: Pre-ID labels are printed as of January 26, 2018, and will likely not match 100% to enrollment on April 10, 2018 (initial test day). Securely discard the Pre-ID label for any student who is no longer enrolled or who is not required to test (e.g., a homeschooled student enrolled for band only, student who is medically exempt, etc.).
