April 21, 2016 To the parents and community members of Illini West: This is a letter to let you know that the Sports Boosters needs your help, as the current board members are stepping down and resigning their positions, which means there will no longer be a Sports Boosters if no one takes on these positions. On April 20th, 2016, resignations were accepted from the vice president and secretary of the Sports Boosters. Next month, the president and treasurer will be resigning as well. We need four individuals willing to take these board positions and keep the Sports Boosters going or it will be dissolved. Last year the Sports Boosters raised approximately $19,000 but the current officers just don’t have the time or the manpower to continue in these positions. If no one is elected to these positions, it has been decided that the remaining funds will be disbursed as follows:

$2,000 will be donated to the Illini West Sports Boosters Scholarship Fund, which will sponsor two $500 scholarships to both a girl and a boy for the next two years (2017 and 2018).

The rest of the money will then be distributed equally to the following 15 activities: cheerleading, dance, baseball, boys basketball, boys track, cross country, football, girls basketball, golf, girls track, softball, volleyball, wrestling, trap shooting and bass fishing. Any remaining money will then be donated to the Illini West school district. Please join us Wednesday, May 11th at 6:00 p.m. to keep this beneficial and much needed organization continuing for our student athletes. Sincerely, Steve Wood, President
