'Herdewyk' has a lively story to tell, with the original
estate dating from 1183 and the Manor from 1435.

your wedding.
FUNCTION ROOMS & SUITES
COLEMAN SUITE Perfect for weddings and self-contained, it has two entrances, three
reception areas, two bars and a spectacular Ballroom ...
A room resplendent with six extravagant crystal chandeliers, tiered and
twinkling with tens of thousands of Austrian Strauss Crystals, shimmering
in the large mirrors.
JOHN BURDON SUITE Formerly a room of exuberant parties and discos. Recently refurbished
with contemporary furnishings and a hand painted wall feature, this room
makes a statement for that all important memorable day.
BOYNE SUITE The original dining room of the hotel boasts an ornately oil-painted ceiling
and traditional yet stylish decor. The perfect venue for a more intimate
wedding.
PADDOCKMAROlJEE The Marquee is situated within it's own private garden. Lined with
champagne linen and dressed with trellising, this makes the marquee
ideal for a traditional summer garden wedding.The Marquee is available
from May to September. Please note that live music or bands are not permitted
in the marquee
CIVIL WEDDING CEREMONIES
The hotel is a licensed venue for
Civil Marriages and CMI Partnerships.
Couples are able to use our Coleman
Suite, Boyne Suite and John Burdon
Suite for these occasions.
We set the scene with a beautiful
Chippendale-style Registrar's desk
with flowers - flanked by two
beautiful floral arrangements, using
colours of your choice, on large
polished and carved wooden
pedestals.
A red carpet creates an aisle down
the length of the room, there is
comfortable seating for your guests
and light classical music playing in
the background.
As the license holder, the hotel
provides a licensed representative
to organise the guests on the day
and to be present during the service.
There is a charge for civil ceremonies
at the hotel, which includes all of
the above items and VAT. These
charges do not include any other
room hire charges that may be
applicable to your booking and you
are required to pay the Registrar's
fee direct.

When planning your wedding time, remember we will require access
into the room no later than 5.30pm unless you have also booked it for
your evening reception.
WHAT'S ON OFFER
At the hotel we pride ourselves in giving you the most memorable,
relaxed and enjoyable day. Our dedicated team of wedding coordinators
have the experience and knowledge to guide you through each stage
of planning, whether it is a simple question or advice on preferred
suppliers, we are here for you.
• Red carpet at the entrance of your chosen function suite, weather
permitting. In the case of inclement weather, umbrellas are supplied.
• The use of a cake stand and silver cutting knife.
• The choice of either ivory or white linen table cloths and napkins.
• Personalised table plan.
• The guidance of our specialist Wedding Coordinator.
• The services of our Banqueting Manager as Toastmaster.
• Free car parking.
• The use of hotel grounds for all your important photographs.
• A complimentary one-night stay in a Premier Bedroom with full English
breakfast before you depart.
• Use of the hotel DJ, at a cost of £205.00, we do ask you to use
the hotel's DJ however you are more than welcome to organise a
band for the function rooms within the hotel. Please note that live
music or bands are not permitted in the marquee

Please note due to livestock that live on Hardwick Park Estate, we are

Call and speak with our Wedding Coordinator who will arrange an
appointment for you to come and view the hotel and its facilities.
NEXT
Provisionally hold your preferred function room and date whilst you
contact the church or Registrar.
THEN
Confirm your date with the hotel within two weeks of your provisional
booking by paying a deposit of £500.00. We will send you a contract
to sign, please return the pink copy of the contract and keep the white
copy for your records.
6 MONTHS PRJOR
Six months prior to your wedding day you are required to pay 50% of
your wedding balance. This will be calculated in relation to your provisional
numbers given at the fime of booking. A wedding coordinator will contact
you to arrange this.
3 MONTHS PRIOR
Your Wedding Coordinator will contact you to arrange an appointment
for you to come in and run through the details for your special day. This
will include menu choices, format and all the smaller details. After this
appointment we will send you a function sheet and pro-forma invoice
based on the numbers and details discussed. A menu tasting can be
arranged after this appointment at a discounted rate of 50% for the
bride and groom.
Any additional guests joining the bride and groom will pay the full price.
28 DAYS PRJOR
Payment of your invoice is due. If you need to make any amendments
to your details or numbers please contact the hotel prior to the payment
date so an amended invoice and function sheet can be issued.
2 WEEKS PRJOR
Send your table plan to the hotel
1 WEEKPRJOR
You must contact the Wedding Coordinator to advise them of any
amendments to your numbers. A reduction in numbers after the 7 days
will still be charged.
DAY BEFORE
Bring any favours, placecards and table decorations you wish for us to
put out on the tables for you. If you are having any items delivered ie.
cake, flowers, chair covers please arrange for these to be delivered and
fitted on the day.
WEDDING DAY
Sit back and relax, this is your big day, so enjoy!
We hold wedding open days and evenings once a month so keep a
look out on the website for the dates. All our available suites will be set
for weddings and a civil ceremony and we will be here to answer any
of your queries.
RECEIVING LINE
Once you have arrived at the hotel and have been for your photographs
it is a tradition for the bride, groom and bride's mother (who is the
hostess) to receive the guests as they take their seats. It is the responsibility
of the mother of the bride to personally welcome all the guests to the
reception. It is the father of the bride's (the host) responsibility to mingle
with the guests, making sure everyone has been introduced to one
another.
The most formal line up would normally also include the groom's mother,
the maid of honor and bridesmaids. The only male in the receiving line
is the groom.
These are very traditional methods of greeting the guests and it can be
modified to suit your individual needs.
GRACE
If the vicar is in attendance this is a must, otherwise you may wish for
a close friend or relative who is willing to say grace, although this is not
a necessary requirement.

Bride's Father, Groom's Mother, Best Man.
This is not set in stone and can be changed to suit your individual needs.
SPEECHES
Speeches traditionally take place after the Wedding Breakfast, however
this can also be changed to before the meal if this is what you would
prefer.
ORDER OF SPEECHES
The bride's father will give the first speech and propose a toast to the
bride and groom.
The groom will then respond and thank the parents for his beautiful
bride, thank the guests for the lovely gifts and make a toast to the
bridesmaids.
The best man will finish the proceedings by making a toast on behalf
of the bridesmaids, reading a few cards and ending the speeches with
a few chosen words of his own.
We have 51 bedrooms and special accommoda11on rates are available
for your guests.
The demand for bedrooms is high, therefore we ask you to check
availability of bedrooms at the time of making your provisional
booking.
We do not automa11cally book any accommodation for your wedding
guests, however a complimentary Premier room will be booked for
the Bride and Groom on the night of the wedding.
