Himachal Pradesh, which in every sense reflects its literal meaning – “In the laps of Himalayas“, is the home for one of the newest Indian Institute of Management – Sirmaur. Greetings from Indian Institute of Management - IIM Sirmaur (Himachal) and Welcome to the Recruitment process for the first batch of our Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM) programme. The programme comprises young, talented and highly motivated individuals from diverse backgrounds and qualifications eager to leave a positive mark on the industry as ambassadors of the youngest IIM in the country.

Why IIM Sirmaur?

Himachal Pradesh, which in every sense reflects its literal meaning – “In the laps of Himalayas“, is the home for one of the newest Indian Institute of Management – IIM Sirmaur.IIM Sirmaur is an ideal setup conducive to learning, accessibility and excellence.

IIM Sirmaur established in 2015 is being mentored by one of the top most business schools in India - Indian Institute of Management Lucknow. IIM Lucknow in the past has successfully mentored two other IIM’s – IIM Rohtak and IIM Kashipur

Situated in a city famous for its abundant natural beauty, the river Yamuna passes through the town.The temporary campus of IIM Sirmaur is at Himachal Institute of Technology, Near Dental College, RampurGhat Road, Paonta Sahib, District Sirmaur, H.P - 173025. Paonta Sahib is an industrial town in the south of Sirmaur district.

InfrastructureIIM Sirmaur’s campus is a scenic beauty with lush greenery all around, beautiful hills in the background and the river Yamuna flowing right next to the campus. The campus constitutes of an academic block and a residential block.

The academic block consists of fully equipped air conditioned classrooms, auditoriums, and conference rooms. We have a rich library with books and journals from all around the world. Connectivity being the need of the hour, we have a fully wifi campus with dedicated portals and a hi-tech computer lab. The residential block has state of the art facilities. The mess facilities are independently run by the students. Single occupancy rooms with attached bathrooms are provided to the students.

The Indian Institute of Management Sirmaur is fifteenth in the prestigious IIM family of management schools to be established in India.The establishment of IIMs was envisioned and initiated by the first Prime Minister of India

– Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru.

IIM Sirmaur has various clubs and committees, namely

Dis.Co: The discussion forum of IIM Sirmaur. It conducts debates and discussions.

Seed: The socially responsible committee, which looks after the social aspects and welfare of the underprivileged.

Quizzar: it is our official quizzing club, Started with much fanfare, this club has already conducted several quizzes and is an amazing medium for learning.

The Sports committee: The committee responsible for the amazing sporting facilities at our campus. We have dedicated volley ball, Badminton, Tennis courts and a football field.

Bizbuddy: The club that is responsible awareness inside the campus. It keeps everyone updated with all the world news and business news.

Social Media Committee: The committee that is the face of IIM Sirmaur on the virtual world. It has been successfully running our pages and forums on various social media platforms.

PEC: The Personality Enhancement Cell forms an integral part in improving the overall personality of students. It guides students towards a better understanding of their own personality through various activites.

The finance forum: The finance forum integrates all like-minded people and forms a medium of engagement between finance clubs and finance people inter and intra institutes.

Guide to Summer Placements 2015 – 17Pre-Placement Talks October - December 2015

Internship Period May-June 2016

The exact dates will be communicated when finalized. The organizations can start inviting applications any time after the conduction of a Pre-Placement Talk (PPT) and/or confirmation of participation in the Summer Placement Process. The details of the job offer such as profile, stipend and location must be provided before applications are invited. Consequently, an invitation letter will be mailed to the organization confirming the date and time at which the Selection Process will take place. The organization is required to communicate the detailed process requirements (number of selection rounds, panels, and process specific requirements) atleast 2 days prior to the placement process.

Pre-Placement OffersPre-Placement offers are made by the organization to candidates who have completed a 2-month summer internship with them. The exact policy regarding PPOs is subject to the discretion of the placement committee and should be confirmed with them.

Job OffersTo make an offer, the organization representative will have to fill-up the job offer form that will be made available on campus. An offer is considered valid only when this form, duly filled in by the representative, is handed over to the recruitment co-ordinator of the institute.The organization is requested not to communicate the offer to the candidate directly.

A job offer must specify:Name of Selected Candidate, Designation, Remuneration, Location

Pre-Placement TalksA Pre-Placement Talk (PPT) provides an excellent opportunity for candidates to gain deeper knowledge about the prospective employers. It allows an organization to take a first-hand look at the institute and the existing talent pool. The representatives get a chance to spend some quality time with the students and the faculty. The PPTs are scheduled to suit the convenience of the organization without affecting the PGP schedule.
