70. The temporary closing of a place of
employment or the suspension of work
by an employer is called
(A) Closure
(B) Layoff
(C) Lockout
(D) Retrenchment
Read the passage below, and answer the
questions from 71-75 that follow based on
your understanding of the passage.
Sometimes, views of professions and areas
of knowledge such as social work are called
‘paradigms’. This concept means a pattern or
template, something which is commonly
reproduced in an activity. Kuhn (1970) used
‘paradigm’ to describe a general view of the
nature of physical or natural phenomena in
science. His influential book on the history of
science suggests that scientific activity
(theory-making, experimentation, methods of
research, debate and so on) always builds on
a paradigm. Eventually, in a scientific
revolution, a completely new world view of
phenomena is constructed. This changes the
conception of those phenomena and forms a
new paradigm.
71. What is ‘paradigm’ ?
(A) Research Design
(B) Sampling Design
(C) View of Profession and Knowledge
(D) Architectural Design
72. Scientific activity referes to
(A) Preaching
(B) Theory building
(C) Charity
(D) Extension
73. What is the outcome of scientific
revolution ?
(A) Conflicts
(B) Emergence of groups
(C) Emergence of states
(D) Emergence of new ‘paradigms’
74. What is the name of a book written by
Kuhn ?
(A) History of Science
(B) History of Social Work
(C) History of Science and Social
Science
(D) History of Social Science
75. Where the ‘paradigm’ is applicable ?
(A) In Science
(B) In Social Science
(C) In Social Work
(D) In Science and Social Science
