School of Ultrasound "Ian Donald" was founded in 1981 in Dubrovnik. It is named after Ian Donald, a Scottish physician, pioneer of ultrasound in obstetrics. The idea of establishing the School was initiated by a group of enthusiasts who linked this institution with the Inter-University Centre for Postgraduate studies (IUC). First Ian Donald course was held in 1982. It was organized by prof. Asim Kurjak and Prof. George Kossoff, and was attended by 152 participants from 42 countries. Doctor Ian Donald took part in the first 12 courses. Since the establishment, the School has organized a number of training courses in 90 countries around the world where the School is registered. This institution was established for physicians who daily apply ultrasound in their practice. They are given an opportunity to share their knowledge in the field of gynecology and obstetrics and expand in line with the latest scientific and practical achievements in the world.

Thus, the School aims to promote science and art of ultrasound examination, research and training, and continuous training in the field of ultrasound. The School wants to contribute to the improvement of educational standards through the use of computers and technology of telemedicine. In this way, it's easier to provide advice to the patient when necessary.

Each national school has a duty to organize advanced courses in their territory. These courses must be held in accordance with protocols approved by the School, in terms of organization, varieties of topics that must be represented, the selection of lecturers and technical support.

Dear guests – participants of the II. Regional Congress!Exactly two years ago we gathered in Zagreb, where the idea was born to regularly meet and exchange thoughts on ultrasound - undoubtedly the best method to apply in gynecology and obstetrics.Although science and medicine are true worldwide activities and their criteria and challenges are international, regional gatherings are precious in these turbulent times which bring a lot of good but also some bad quality not only for wellbeing of a person and family but on a global level as well. We live and work in a region in which we still face problems and disagreements however it still has so much in common.We understand each other, speak a similar or the same language and we are trying hard to change these once restless areas into the field of cooperation and mutual respect. Isn’t ultrasound strong cohesive force that successfully connects diversity and, even more, those diversities are enriching it and creating an intellectual unity. Not only that in this meeting we are going to hear about truly great achievements of techniques, and some of them have sprung up on these meridians and then went around the whole world, but we will rebuild the old friendships and create many new ones. Science and medicine have no borders, no space boundaries. This time we choose proud Sarajevo and its most beautiful part Jahorina where the best organized Winter Olympics games happened, best one that humanity remembers. Our hosts, well known for their idiosyncratic hospitality, are offering numerous scientific and social activities. All this is already giving us the right to claim that the second regional congress of ultrasound will be huge in general and great even in details. We wish everyone a warm welcome!

Biography Marko Kusmuk was born on February 15, 1985 in Sarajevo. He graduatedFaculty of Fine Arts in Sarajevo, department of painting in the class of prof. Nusret Pasic 2007. He received his MA in Rome at the Academia di Belle Arti, Department: painting with prof. Desiderio Sanz with the work / thesis entitled "Early Renaissance Assisi ", 2008. 2011 entered Doctoral art studies in Belgrade, Faculty of Arts and Design, Department of painting with prof. Milos Sobajic where he received his doctorate scientific thesis titled "Art deconstruction in dualism face and reverse" exhibition in Home King Perth titled "Faces and masks".Independent artist, expressed through painting, sculpture, graphic design.In 2010 he was hired by Emir Kusturica on the project of making wax figures of Johnny Depp in Mecavnik.
