ABHSS, Khor has not only revolutionised education industry but set very high standards of transparency & ethics. The motto of the school ‘Strive for Success’ is reflected in its faith that education is a process of awakening individual potential to creative knowledge inculcating in them the desire to excel in various spheres. It is extremely noteworthy that the school considers it to be 'its duty to nurture its students as sensitive people with strong values, who will leverage their individual achievements to strengthen the fabric of the community, the nation and the planet'. The cornerstone of any educational institution lies in its consistent academic achievements. It is certainly with immense pleasure I share with you that the year gone by has been exceptional at all fronts. I believe, our students are quite capable to face the challenges of today’s competitive world and are also able to bring laurels to the school. With immense pleasure, I am presenting before you the progress report and activities of the school held during last 6 months. Academic : Half yearly exams for all the classes were held in the month of November as per the planned schedule. Syllabus of board classes was completed by the set date 30 th November 2016. Pre-board exams of classes X and XII were held as per the scheduled dates from 31 st January 2017 to 9 th February 2017. The Annual Examination for all the classes, except board classes, will be held in the month of March 2017. Enrichment & Remedial Classes : Enrichment classes were held for the high achievers of board classes to secure a good rank in board examination. Remedial classes were held for underperformers for the improvement of their board result. Alumni Meet : First Alumni Meet of ABHSS, Khor was organised on Monday, 14 th November 2016. A significant number of Alumni had gathered to celebrate the occasion despite being the first attempt of this kind. It was a unique celebration expressing Hearty Congratulations to our CEO Dr. S. Ganguli for the grand success of Re-union Day. The Meet was inaugurated by Sh. Ashok Khuntwal, Chairman ABHSS, Khor and Executive President Vikram Cement Works. In his address he gave the message to have positive mindset, values and be driven in right direction in all the phases of life to succeed. The Principal welcomed the Alumni and read-out the message sent by CEO. She wished them all to succeed in life with higher professional targets but having roots in our culture. The formal formation of Alumni Association took place along with the appointments of Office Bearers followed by experience and knowledge sharing session by Alumni, followed by a mesmerising cultural show and refreshment. The Principal, management and alumni thanked our CEO to take initiative to organise such intellectual and emotional celebration to mark the completion of 15 years of ABG brand. Silver Jubilee Celebration : ABHSS, Khor has completed 25 years of its glorious journey and celebrated Silver Jubilee Year Celebration on Sunday, 18 th December 2016. Sh. Rajneesh Shrivastava, District Collector Neemuch was the Chief Guest and Sh. Ashok Khuntwal, Unit Head VCW, Khor was the Guest of Honour of the celebration. Sh. R. C. Chaturvedi, former Principal, was the Special Guest and was honoured with a memento as a token of respect by the school. The Principal welcomed all the Parents, Guests, Dignitaries of VCW and Officials of local administration. She presented the Progress Report of the school. A short documentary on The Journey of Glorious 25 Years of ABHSS was screened in the beginning of the celebration. More than 500 students participated in the mesmerising cultural program presented by the students of ABHSS. Students with outstanding achievements at the National and State level in the fields of academic and science were felicitated by the Chief Guest. The celebration has become the talk of the town. The Collector and other Officials of administration highly praised the standard of the program. Annual Felicitation Ceremony : Annual Felicitation Ceremony for the session 2016-17 was organised in the school on 21 st January 2017. Certificates and mementos were awarded by the Principal of the school to the winners of various activities and inter-house competitions held during the session. New Release : The Sixth Edition of school magazine Arunodaya was released. Readers appreciated the good work put in by the students and the team of the school to make it a success. Visits : Ms. Sushma Sharma, Principal of the school visited ABPS Adityapuram (Chittorgarh) and ABPS Khariya for the School Audit. She had an interactive session with the students, staff members and parents. Ms. Ajonta Arora, Principal ABHSS Nagda, visited the school on 4 th October 2016. She met the students, teachers and the parents. Workshop : The Principal of the school attended three days Workshop at Gyanodaya Mumbai from 30 th November to 2 nd December 2016. Training & Seminars : A Road Safety Training Program was conducted on 19 th January 2017 by the experts from District Traffic Department of Neemuch to aware the students about traffic rules. A training session on Earthquake and Flood Disaster Response and Recovery was organised for the students on 23 rd February 2017. The session was conducted by Safety Department of VCW, Khor. Science : School has some notable achievements in the field of Science. A student of class XI participated in Vigyan Manthan Yatra-2016 as Excellent Student in the Interactive Visit to the Scientific and Research Institutions of Pune under Madhya Pradesh Mission Excellence Program 2016 organised by M.P. Govt. during 16 th to 23 rd October 2016. The school has secured Second Position and awarded with a Cash Prize of Rs. 21000/- and a Citation in the 3 rd National Sci-Tech Pro Café (a Mind Challenging Science Project Olympiad organised by Geetanjali Institute of Technical Studies, Udaipur on 15 th October 2016. The project “Mobile Missed Call Light Auto Device” presented by the students of class XII was the winner of the contest. The winners were awarded with Certificates, Mementoes and a Cash Prize of Rs. 2500/- each. The school competed 107 schools of three states Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Gujarat. The school won the First Position in State Level Science Quiz organised by State Education Institute M.P. held at Khandwa in the month of November 2016. Two students of class X participated at State Level with Science Model Artificial Theatre” in West India Science Fair 2016 held at Jabalpur, organised by Nehru Science Centre, Mumbai and sponsored by Department of Science & Technology and HRD Ministry of India. Two students from each middle and senior section secured the First Position in Essay Writing Competition organised as per the directives received from the office of the District Education Officer Neemuch. A student of class VIII represented the school at State Level in Mogli Bal Mahoatsava organised by M.P. State Government to promote environmental awareness held at Seoni in November 2016. Many students of Class 10 th have appeared for the First stage of NTSE. 12 students took part in Science Olympiad organised by MPCST, Bhopal. 6 students got selected for the next stage. Dear Parents, Season’s Greetings!

25 years back a star was born- ABHSS. ABHSS, Khor has not only revolutionised education industry but set very high standards of

presenting before you the progress report and activities of the school held during last 6 months.

Academic: Half yearly exams for all the classes were held in the month of November as per the planned schedule. Syllabus of board classes

was completed by the set date 30th November 2016. Pre-board exams of classes X and XII were held as per the scheduled dates from 31st

January 2017 to 9th February 2017. The Annual Examination for all the classes, except board classes, will be held in the month of March 2017.

Enrichment & Remedial Classes: Enrichment classes were held for the high achievers of board classes to secure a good rank in board

examination. Remedial classes were held for underperformers for the improvement of their board result.

Alumni Meet: First Alumni Meet of ABHSS, Khor was organised on Monday, 14th November 2016. A significant number of Alumni had

Guidance & Counselling: The school extended career counselling services to its students at regular intervals for selecting their careers.

� A session on Guidance & Counselling was organised for the students of classes IX to XII on 21st December 2016. The session was taken by

the Principal of the school. Moral Values and Discipline were the main subjects of the session.

� A Career Counselling session for the students of Science and Commerce stream of class XII was organised in the school by external agency

from Neemuch on 13th January 2017.

� Another Career Counselling session for the students of both the streams of class XII was organised on 9th February 2017 by an external

agency from Neemuch.

Sports: The Annual Sports Meet of the school was organized on 23rd and 24th December 2016. The Principal of the school raised the school

flag up to declare the Meet Open. Students from all houses exhibited great sportsmanship. 146 winners in 31 competitions were felicitated with

Gold, Silver & Bronze Medals.

� Cricket Finals for Boys for Group C was held on 8th October 2016. Vivekanand House was the winner of the match.

� Cricket Finals for Boys for Group D was held on 15th October 2016. Vivekanand House was the winner of the match.

� Badminton Boys for Group D was held on 22nd October 2016. Vivekanand House was the winner of the match

� Badminton Girls for Group D was held on 22nd October 2016. Jawahar House was the winner of the match

Celebrations: The school celebrated all important festivals.

� Gandhi and Shastri Jayanti were celebrated in school on 2nd October 2016.

� Christmas was celebrated in the school with joy.

� Basant Panchami was celebrated in the school with full devotion on 1st February 2017.

� The 68th Republic Day was celebrated in the school playground. Sh. Ashok Khuntwal, Chairman of the school and Executive President

VCW, Khor graced the celebration as the Chief Guest and unfurled the National Tricolour. Houses of the school presented a well

synchronised parade on the tune of the school band co-presented by the girls of the school. Outstanding achievers at National and State level

were felicitated by the Chief Guest. School’s tableau presenting The Combat Power of India stood first in Tableau Competition. A

mesmerising cultural program with patriotic fervour was presented by the children of the school which ended with paying the tribute to the

Shaheeds of Uri Attack and bravehearts of Indian Army.

Prizes and Awards: The achievers of different fields and participants of State Level & National Level Events were felicitated on Annual

Sports Meet, Annual felicitation Ceremony and Republic Day.

� Two new in-house competitions Best Class (in Primary, Middle & Senior Group) and Best House Master were introduced from the session

2016-17.

� The 146 winners of Annual Sports Meet were felicitated with Gold, Silver & Bronze medals and certificates in 31 competitions.

� On Republic Day, winners and achievers of State Level & National level events were felicitated with Mementoes, Certificates and Cash

rewards.

� Best Individual Performance like Best Instrumentalist, Best Actor, Best Dancer, Best Reader and Best Student Awards for Junior, Middle and

Senior Group were awarded to the students.

� Inter-House Cultural Trophy, Sports Trophy, Overall Trophy and the Best March Past Trophy were awarded to Subhash House.

� The Best House Master Trophy was also awarded to the House Master of Subhash House.

� The 105 mementos were awarded to the winners of various activities and inter-house competitions held during the session.

Co-curricular: Some inter-house cultural/co-curricular competitions were organised in the month of October 2016.

� Hand writing competition for class UKG was held on 8th October 2016.

� Quiz competition for group C & D was held on 8th October 2016. Jawahar house won the competition.

� Nukkad Natak competition for group C & D was held on 22nd October 2016. Subhash house was the winner.

� Group Song competition for group C & D was held on 22nd October 2016. Shastri house won the competition.

Club Activities: All the 14 clubs remained active during the session. Health and Art & Craft club organised various activities for the different

group of students. The students performed Surya Namaskar on 12th January 2017 on account of birth anniversary of Swami Vivekanand.

Library: School library was enriched with the arrivals of 545 new books of different subjects; general knowledge, competitive exams, reference

books etc. to impart knowledge of various subjects. Best Reader Award for the session 2016-17 was awarded to the student of class X who read

the maximum number of quality books from the library during the session.

Social and Cultural Commitments: The school remained committed for its social & cultural commitments.

� Cleanliness Drive was held in the school on 2nd October after the celebration of Gandhi and Shastri Jayanti. The Principal, teachers and

students participated actively in cleanliness drive and spread the message of importance of cleanliness in VCW township area.

� A campaign on Hand-Wash was held in the school on 15th October 2016.

� 154 students took part in Bhartiya Sanskriti Gyan Pariksha held on 15th October 2016.

� More than 150 students participated enthusiastically projecting their talents in Poster Making Competition organized on 6th November 2016

by the Department of Limestone Mines, VCW, Khor on account of the celebration of the 40th Mines Safety Week of Udaipur Region.

� Students participated in Road Safety Poster Making Competition conducted by Safety Department of VCW, Khor on 7th January 2017.

� Road Safety Rally was carried out by the students on 19th January 2017 to spread the awareness about the traffic rules.

� Students participated in Safety Slogan Competition held on 23rd February 2017 organised by VCW, Khor on account of 46th National Safety

Day Campaign 2017.

Parent-Teacher Meet: The Second Parent-Teacher Association Meet of the school was held on 12th January 2017.

Tribute: A tribute was paid to the Father of the Nation on Martyr’s Day on 30th January 2017.

Obituary: Our teacher Mrs. Nirmala Parihar (PRT) lost her mother Mrs. Kamla Devi Parihar on 4th January 2017. May her soul rest in peace.

Child Birth: Our teacher Mr. Govind Saini (PRT) is blessed with a son. The school conveys good wishes to his family.

Valediction: Farewell for outgoing batch of class XII was organised on 18th February 2017. The Principal blessed them for their bright future.

Commitment Statement: School education has the most important role in the character-building of the students, as it is here that they imbibe

the ideals of respect for elders, for our culture and tradition, discipline and punctuality and also, most importantly, human values. At ABHSS

learning is the most valuable and empowering experience. ABHSS is in the ennobling process of character-building through education that we

produce great academicians, scientists, statesmen and administrators, technological experts, successful industrialists, good sportspersons and

eminent artists, that is to say, successful and committed citizens and ultimately, good human beings.
