DESCripTion
Mixing with the mixer is based on the dual rotation of the
mixing cup. The
motor rotates the base plate of the mixing unit clockwise while
the basket is
spun counter-clockwise.
This combination of forces in different planes creates a
high-speed outward
materialflow,resultinginlaminarshearwithinthematerial,givingapure
mixing action throughout the sample.
The typical mixing time for fully dispersing a powdered pigment
into
asiliconesealant,ormixinga
fumedsilicaorprecipitatedchalksilicone
formulationsislessthan20s.Mixingliquidinksorpasteinkstakes20-40s.
Thesearealloperations,thatwouldotherwiserequirethreehoursormore
ofmixingtime.Additionally,thespinningactionofthemixerremovesair
fromtheblend,yieldingafinishedproductwhenthemixingprocessisdone.
