percent marks

OR Master's degree or an equivalent degree from any University or a

recognized Institute of higher learning in any relevant branch of

Science / Engineering & technology with at least 60 percent marks

OR

The candidates having Masters degree in any subject with

minimum seventy percent marks with sufficient background in the

area of computer science / IT, may also be considered. However, theadmission cases in this category will be recommended by a Sub-

Committee on the basis of the performance in a seminar to be given

by the candidate in the area of research after the entrance test.

OR

A batch in Computer Science/Information Technology with seventy

percent marks with five (5) years of experience either in teaching or in

the software industry, may also be considered. However, the

admission cases in this category will be recommended by a sub-

committee on the basis of the performance in a seminar after the



entrance test. There will be an entrance test for those who fulfil the

above mentioned eligibility conditions.

School of Education (SOE)Doctor of Philosophy in Education

(PhD in Education)

Candidates with fifty-five percent marks in the Post-Graduate

examination (50 percent for SC/ST candidates) are eligible to apply.

School of Engineering &

Technology (SOET)

A University/ College teacher with five years of teaching experience is

also eligible.

Doctor of Philosophy in Nursing

(PhD(N))

Nursing professionals who have completed their M.Phil degree with

55 per cent marks from a recognised University or an equivalent grade

(50 per cent for SC and ST candidates)

Nursing professionals having M.Sc. Nursing, with 55 per cent marks

and five years of teaching/industry/administration /professional/

clinical experience.

Nursing personnel, who have completed their M.Sc. Nursing with 55

per cent marks (50 per cent marks for SC and ST candidates)

(Initially the first two categories will be considered)

School of Humanities (SOH)y Doctor of Philosophy in English

(PhD in English)

An MPhil Degree and a Post-Graduate Degree in a relevant discipline

with a minimum of fifty-five percent marks (fifty percent marks forSC/ST/PH candidates) or an equivalent grade from a university or a

recognised institution of higher learning.





Those who have completed MPhil.

Those who have five (5) years of relevant teaching/ research

experience.

Students have to complete the course work worth 32 credits before

registering for the Ph.D. programme. Those with an M Phil degree areexempted from the course work. Students with an MPhil degree are

required to present a PhD proposal which will be approved by the

Doctoral Committee. They will be registered for the PhD Programme

only if the proposal is approved by the Doctoral Committee.
