Citizens of Georgia Power,
The summer seems to have flown by and I hope that aside from all the storm restoration and changes throughout the company you have had the opportunity to create some great memories with your family. I had the opportunity earlier this month to sign my kiddo up for Boy Scouts and I was reminded in listening to the leadership talk of how important the message of giving back and helping others is, and how that message can impact their lives and the lives of those around them. I learned at the knee of my grandparents watching them give their time and energy to those around them, and continued to see that message with my parents. I can only hope that the message I give to my son will light that spark in him to want to give of his heart to those in need.
When our children see us giving back, helping others, and being truly selfless, that is a message that will resonate with them and set them on a path to lead great lives. Knowing that no matter what your kids are involved in – Scouts, school, church, ball, etc. there is a message of giving back and community involvement expectation; so, it’s a great opportunity to reach out to those organizations you are involved with for volunteer support, project partnership, or even impactful ideas.
Its getting ever closer to the annual meeting. Please make sure you are reporting hours, projects, and membership so that we can help tell your story and shine that light on everything you are doing. You continue to amaze and astound and lead the way in your communities! Thank you for everything you do!
