OFFICIAL PRESS RELEASE 2015 Sunday 7TH JUNE IFSC WORLD CUP VAIL 2015 MASCARENAS AND HOJER TOP PODIUM FOR USA AND GERMANY This Saturday June 6th, was the IFSC World Cup for bouldering in Vail, USA. As in the previous years, the competition was part of the GoPro Mountain Games, showcasing the best of what sports can offer. United States and Germany received gold medals with Megan Mascarenas and Jan Hojer. What happened? This year, two top female climbers dropped out from the competition, Anna Stöhr and Alex Puccio. Stöhr suffered a finger injury while climbing on the second problem. Puccio, due to a knee injury by warming up in isolation before the qualifying round. We wish them a prompt recovery. Who made it to the podium? A large crowd of American climbers that usually do not compete in the IFSC World Cup series attended the competition to the delight of the American audience and the entire climbing community. In the women’s field, the 16 years old climber, Margo Hayes, did an amazing job by ranking sixth in the competition. Even though Noguchi was not able to keep her gold crown, she still managed to rank second with a promising performance for the rest of the season. Mascarenas took over and got 3/4 problems and flashed 2 first boulders getting the gold medal. The British climber, Shauna Coxsey took bronze. In the men’s side, Vail gold medalist for 2013 and 2014 Russia’s Dmitrii Sharafutdinov didn’t make it to the podium this time and placed fourth in the competition. The podium was topped by Jan Hojer from Germany, Coleman from America got silver and Adam Ondra from Czech Republic, needed more attempts but made 3/4 problems and got bronze. MASCARENAS AND HOJER TOP PODIUM FOR USA AND GERMANY

This Saturday June 6th, was the IFSC World Cup for bouldering in Vail, USA. As in the previous years, the competition was part of the GoPro Mountain Games, showcasing the best of what sports can offer.

United States and Germany received gold medals with Megan Mascarenas and Jan Hojer.

What happened?
