ShortCallforPapersInternet is being extended beyond its traditional boundaries through graduallyincorporating a wide-range of challenging networks and autonomous devices. Fromtraditional wireless networks to opportunistic networks of mobile devices in urbanenvironmentsanddeep-space communications, thenewapproaches requireanefficientmerging with the traditional wired infrastructure. IFIPWWIC addresses research topicssuch as the design and evaluation of protocols, the dynamics of the integration, theperformance tradeoffs, the need for new performance metrics, and cross-layerinteractions. This year, we further solicit submissions on bio-inspired, machine-learningbasedanddata-drivenapproaches fornetworkarchitectureandprotocoldesign,andforwired/wirelesssystemplanningandoptimization.
The conferencewill constitute a forum for thepresentation anddiscussionof the latestresults in the field of wired/wireless networks and will aim at providing researchdirectionsandfosteringcollaborationsamongtheparticipants.IFIPWWICisasingle-trackconferencethathasreached,overthelast15years,ahighqualitylevel,whichisreflectedbythepaperacceptancerateaswellasthelevelofattendance.Followingtheconferencetradition,therewillbeabestpaperaward.SelectedpresentationswillbebroadcastedliveintheInternet.
All submissionsmustdescribeoriginal research,notpublishedorcurrentlyunder reviewfor another workshop, conference, or journal. The proceedings will be published bySpringer in the series Lecture Notes in Computer Science (LNCS). Extended versions ofselected papers will be considered for publication on a Special Issue of the ComputerCommunications(Elsevier)journal.
