The Centre of Excellence for Entrepreneurship Development at IFIM Institutions is introducing a 8 months customised-project based entrepreneurship program. The certificate program aims at extending support for entrepreneurs from family business.

Over 80% of businesses across the world are family businesses (Harvard Business Review). Depending on our definition, 60-90% of businesses in India maybe classified as family businesses. It’s a well known phenomenon that only 30% of businesses survive to the next generation and only 15% survive to the second generation (Family Business Magazine). While first generation entrepreneur faces several business challenges in setting up and running a business, the continuity and sustenance of the business however rests on succession planning, professionalization and agility of the business in adapting to growth and market changes.

Management schools generally focus on development of managerial skills for business, with little focus on the entrepreneurial perspective. This certificate program is designed to mould business education to the entrepreneur. Entrepreneurship is an action oriented activity and can be learnt effectively only by action. Hence, this program is designed to provide intensive inputs in terms of theoretical frameworks which are then applied in structured and customised projects over double the period. The project periods extend to over twice the duration of classroom period and designed to be applied in a relevant context with mentoring support.
