RESULT OF THE FINAL ROUND OF 5TH ALL INDIA IFFCO INTER-UNIT MANAGEMENT QUIZ CONTEST 2015

The FINALE of the 5TH ALL INDIA IFFCO INTER-UNIT MANAGEMENT QUIZ CONTEST 2015 has culminated at PARADEEP UNIT on 28th November, 2017 with great fanfare and enthusiasm.

The quiz was held in three Stages : the first being the PRELIMINARY ROUND held on 9 th September, 2015 throughout IFFCO followed by Stage 2, the QUALIFYING ROUND, held just before the FINAL ROUND at Paradeep Unit on 28th Nov 2015. A fairly tough set of 20 questions in the qualifying round set the stage for the afternoon as seven teams made it to the final on the basis of merit.

Inaugurating the final round, Shri A.K. Panda, Sr. GM, Paradeep Unit extended hearty welcome to all in the land of Lord Jagannath. He expressed that now a days the quiz has become popular with KBC and many other quizzes being held for all age groups in the electronic media which has surely helped in enriching the knowledge of all of us. He also thanked all the employees who had participated in the Preliminary, Qualifying as well as the Final Round and declared them ‘successful’ for the initiative. Shri D.K.Dhameja, HO, briefed about the history of IFFCO Inter-Unit Management Quiz since 2011 and its objectives. He informed that the quiz is getting tougher with each edition as it is expected that the contestants will set new benchmark with each quiz.

The quiz master Mr. Krish Banik set the tone for an entertaining afternoon. He started the proceedings with crisp introduction of the quiz and moved on with each passing round which included IFFCO round, rapid fire round, fastest finger round, direct round, pass on round and visual round.

The enthusiasm was visible among all the contestants as much as the audience. The challenging questions which remained unanswered by the contestants were responded by the audiance with ease who won lots of goodies.

The early round of the quiz saw the HO racing ahead of the rest but as the quiz moved on, the other teams started scoring as well. HO team of KAMALAKANTH KALYANKARI AND SACHIN AGRAHARI swept the finals since the beginning and maintained the lead till the last. They were calm and collectively answered questions, with few negatives, and dominated the finals since beginning and inched forward with good strikes in each round to win the CHAMPIONS’ TITLE in style.

It was tight battle for the second and third position. The Paradeep teams did superbly well throughout the event and emerged Runners up (DHIREN KUMAR JENA AND ARUN KUMAR BEHERA, PARADEEP) as well as secured third position (SUMIT KUMAR & AKASH BEHERA, PARADEEP).

At the end of the last buzzer round the excitement mounted high with three teams getting equal score of 300 and the quiz master had to pose ticklish question: Which country’s supercomputer Tianhe-2 has emerged as the world’s most powerful supercomputer system for the sixth consecutive time? to break the tie. The Paradeep team hit the buzzer first and won the third position with comfort.

The prizes for the contestants included Lenovo Bluetooth speakers, 1 TB WD hard disk, Philips system, pendrives etc.

Shri A.K. Panda, Sr. General Manager, Paradeep Unit gave away the prizes to the winners and congratulated all the teams on the occasion. He appreciated the HO for creating such a platform for the employees to rekindle their desire to learn and excel.

Mr. S.R.Maurya,DGM(P&A) delivered the vote of thanks on conclusion of the mega event.
