The prohibition of practices of ignorance such as 'Az-Zihaar' and calling adoptive sons with names other than their father's. Expiation for Az-Zihar enables the couple to reunite and adoptive sons lineage is preserved by calling him by his real father's name.

Due to the human nature of resisting change, the gradual introduction of new laws ensured acceptability by the Muslims and better adherance to them.

This is a command from Allah to the Prophet pbuh to fear Allah and stay firm on His deen of oneness in Allah and to not obey the disbelievers and hypocrites.

Allah is Sufficient to rely on for the protection of the Prophet pbuh in case the disbelievers tried to harm him due to his refusal of accepting their invitation to honor shirk.

Attributing the adoptive sons to the real father's names is more equitable in the Sight of Allah.

Az-Zihaar is to make one's wife as his mother. This is falsehood and the wife can never be his mother as his mother is only the one who gave birth to him. It was a reprehensible practice that destroyed families.

To take the financial responsibility of educating, feeding & clothing.

To falsely attribute an adopted son as ones own. Living with them.

To earn good deeds and ensure successful upbringing of the orphan.

Seeking closeness to Allah by looking after a poor orphan child.

Recommended.Prohibited to change their surnames

or include as sons in inheritance.
