All kinds of materials, products and processes that fulfi ll the stated criteria are recognized in the iF material design award. Manufacturers, designers, architects, developers and engineers can submit as many entries as they wish for consideration for an iF material design award.

SAME TIMETABLE FOR ALL iF DESIGN AWARDS

iF design exhibitions in Hannover and HamburgThe traditional iF awards exhibition at the Hannover fairgounds will be run in parallel to design-related trade fairs such as CeBIT. There will also be a new exhibition concept, which will again direct public attention towards the iF awards exhibition. On top of the permanent exhibition there will be a new supplementary exhibition space: The iF design awards exhibition will additionally be presented at Hamburg‘s new Harbor City.

Not only will the new exhibition showcase the winners of the iF product design award but present all winners of all four competitions - at both exhibition locations alike, Hamburg and Hannover.

Worldwide presentations as part of the iF design exhibitionsYou will have the opportunity to present your work in parallel with design trade fairs and events worldwide by participating in our international iF design exhibitions. You can choose whether you want to present your iF award-winning work or whether you want to show diff erent designs from your portfolio that are targeted at a particular market or audience

THE MOST IMPORTANT NEW DEVELOPEMENTS AT A GLANCEAll iF design awards at the same time of the yearWhether it‘s about products, communica-tion, packaging or materials: the iF design awards will still be held in these four areas. What‘s new is that all awards will take place at the same time of the year, with the same registration deadline and the same jury date.

iF design awards night at the start of the yearFrom February 2012 onwards, there will be one awards ceremony for all iF design awards: the iF design awards night. This glamorous and exciting event will kick off the new design year and will support the exchange between experts, designers and entrepreneurs, marketing specialists and architects, representatives of the press and other communicators.

Advertising mediaClients and partners should know when an entry has successfully distinguished itself from the rest and received the popular iF label in one of these internatio-nal design awards. In order to make the most of this image-promotion factor, we off er all iF design award winners a number of effi cient advertising tools:

■ Use of the iF logo for an unlimited period■ Certifi cate for all award winners■ iF sticker artwork■ The best entries to the iF design awards will additionally receive an iF gold award together with the iF sculpture, designed in 1996 by Herbert Schultes.

iF rankingAll iF design award winners will receive points in the iF ranking. 20 points are given for winning an iF award. For gold award winners, 100 points will be given to both the designers in the iF creative ranking and the manufacturers or clients in the iF company ranking. The iF ranking is based on the iF design awards from the last three years. The iF ranking is based on all the iF design awards from the last three years. In future the iF ranking will be updated once a year, at the iF design awards night.

iF design awards nightThe winners of an iF gold award will only be announced on the day of the awards ceremony. These special awards will be presented on 10 February 2012 at BMW Welt in Munich.

iF design exhibition Hannover All award-winning entries will be presen-ted, either physically or in multimedia form, at the iF design exhibition in Hannover (to be held alongside CeBIT) from 6 to 10 March 2012.

iF design exhibition HamburgIn the second half of 2012, all the award-winning entries will be presented, either physically or in multimedia form, at the iF design exhibition in Hamburg‘s HafenCity district.

iF design exhibition Haikou/Hainan Island, ChinaFrom May 2012, all the award-winning entries will be presented in a multimedia exhibition at the iF design exhibition on Haikou/Hainan Island.Optional: iF award winners of the last 3 years can book additional iF design exhibitions and iF design events - and present their designs to an international public.

iF online exhibitionWith some 3.5 million page views per year, the iF website is one of the most popular design platforms on the Internet. Visitors from over 100 countries come to fi nd information about the iF competi-tions. All award-winning contributions will be represented with up to two images and a description in German and English. This exhibition is not limited in duration.

SERVICE FOR AWARD WINNERSiF design awards yearbooksThe iF design awards yearbooks, which provide comprehensive and attractive documentation, are an established and important element of the iF design awards. All the award-winning entries are published with up to two illustrations and a description in German and English on a full page in the iF design awards yearbooks. This excellent publication is used around the world as a reference work, and thus off ers a fi rst-class adverti-sing vehicle for all participants. The offi cial publication date is March 2012. Each awarded participant will receive a free copy of the iF design awards yearbook. For this the following applies:1 to 4 awarded entries: 1 free copy5 to 9 awarded entries: 2 free copies10 to 19 awarded entries: 5 free copiesmore than 20 awarded entries: 10 free copiesOptional: A double-page yearbook entry can be ordered for an extra charge of EUR 400. We are also able to provide a translation of your text if you wish. Our translation fee is EUR 50,00.

PresseBefore, during and after the iF design awards the comprehensive PR work of iF ensures that the iF design awards will receive a great deal of attention in the national and international press. There will be reports about the outstanding level of the award-winning works in business and lifestyle magazines, in the specialized design press, in daily and weekly newspapers, as well as in radio and TV programs. This thorough press coverage is based on longstanding contacts with more than 100 media representatives worldwide. With this comprehensive communication package, iF achieves optimal publicity for the award winners and their great professional success.

For the jury session, please provide a de-scription of the material properties and its potential uses in your product description and also include a material sample.
