Born in 2002, with the motto of promoting technology, scientific thinking and innovation, IET UET Chapter today is a body working for the betterment of professional abilities of students under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Tahir Izhar. With continuation of the legacy, this time IET UET Chapter brings you an All Pakistan event full of technical tang as well as fun on non-technical events; and we are pleased to name it IETEC (Institute of Engineering and Technology Exhibition and Competitions). Registration and Marketing Permissions:

To achieve our noble purpose we shall be required the permissions to display Flex in Electrical, Mechatronics,

IBM department and National Library while we need to display 5 by 2.5 feet posters in whole UET.

As far as registration is concerned, we need to display info desk in National Library and Electrical department

To get the experience of industry, IET UET is arranging industrial tour for UETians in PEL Unit at 20th April

Monday from 12:30pm to 4:30pm to accomplish this task we need favor to get UET bus so that our expensive

TECHNICAL EVENTS In the world of advancement in technology, IET UET aspires to expedite the innate technical abilities of the students; in order to polish their animus. We, the organizers of this event, have a whole set of technical events arranged for the prospective participants so that one can have a precise quantification of its technical abilities in the areas of basic and advanced engineering. The detailed list is given ahead.

PATW (PRESENT AROUND THE WORLD)

Description: PATW is an international signature event of IET UK. In which participants need to present any

technical proposal before the judges. Three judges will decide which participant is better. In judges

jury, two must belong to technical section while one belong to communication field. And

participants are judged by jury with 70% technical and 30% communication skills. Winner from

Pakistan gets the chance to win 100 Euro and competes on regional level with other countrys

winners.

CODE YOUR PRIZE

Description: Programming is the only thing where one can think to get to be both an engineer and an artist. If you

add speed to it, one can think of being a racer also. In this speed programming competition, theres

an incredible, rigorous, technical element which requires very precise thinking. So get ready to run

on the racing track and prove yourself to be a Bugatti Veyron by quickly engineering the design of

code and spraying it on the fly. This is the best chance to show your wildly creative side where the

boundaries of imagination are the only real limitation.

ARE YOU SMARTER THAN 5TH GRADE

Description: IETEC 15 for the very first time brings with an exciting event named as Are you smarter than 5th

grade in which team of four members is registered and questions are asked from each team. This

event is knock out based and therefore starting from zero level, each team needs to pass through all

levels including quarter final, semifinal and final to win the game.

MIND YOUR T-SHIRT

Description: Lets judge your designing skills, how good are you at designing a T-shirt? Mind Your T-shirt is a T-shirt designing competition in which you have to design a T-shirt according to the theme given at the spot. You will be provided with the T-shirts and the colors and you have to complete the design with the given colors.

HUNT FOR THE PUNT

Description: Bored? Tired of usual rise and fall of sun? Then, participate in Hare and Hounds. Never heard of H&H? Well, heres how it works. Get a bunch of your buddies that may stand by you in the need of darkest hours and get yourself registered in the event. At the very minute of beginning of the game you will be given a parchment containing a number of tasks (decent, evil, and ill-genius of course); find as many things as possible on the list handed over to you. The team with most items on the list at the end of the time wins. No one to help around in the neighborhood? Thats OK. Challenge your own self to see how many tasks you can cover.

A MINUTE TO WIN IT

Description: Do you have the dare not to get eliminated? This game will judge that. This competition actually is a series of games (games being one less than the no. of teams). The team standing last in each game will be knocked out. Each game will knock out a team. The team who survives till the end will win. Each game will be held in different venue. After finishing each game the qualified teams will be told the name of the next game and they themselves have to find the next venue. Each next game will start exactly 5 minutes after the previous one is finished. The team reaching the venue after 5 minutes will be disqualified.

WORKSHOP ON LATEX

LaTeX: It is a document preparation system for high-quality typesetting. It is most often used for medium-to-large technical or scientific documents but it can be used for almost any form of

publishing. LaTeX is not a word processor! Instead, LaTeX encourages authors not to worry too much

about the appearance of their documents but to concentrate on getting the right content.

Importance in Professional World: Suppose you are writing a scientific article to be published in a conference proceeding, final year project report, journal or book. This will demand a

camera-ready quality, meaning the hardcopys look and page formatting meets the level needed for

mass distribution in magazines, journals and books. Desktop word processor like Microsoft Word is

ill-suited for this.
