I have served eleven years as Chairman since 1997!!



Challenges

Broken record here…Once again in survival modeTwo officers moved out of area in 2014Another officer lost his job in 2015…not sure if staying in areaThis is my fourth term as Chairman, my 11th non-consecutive year!Major employer of active members laying off



What Has Not Worked

Member retention, admittedly, this needs more work than we have put forthOfficer recruitment – one member on standby, not many interestedEmployment pool greatly reducingEmployer support has droppedOverall participation has droppedHonestly only events over last year was two Engineer’s Week and senior projects



What Has Worked

Excom – bound and determined again to keep it alive!Support Engineer’s Week with PSPE/MathcountsStudent support – Fund an engineering student– Senior project funding and judging/awards– Active formal student group at UPJ, but too small to

be official– Pizza days

Funding STEM– High school robotics– Middle school robotics

Last year previous awardee volunteered as officer!
