• Purpose: to advance the technical and policy p p yunderstanding associated with the implementation of a priority communications capability over public communications networks

• Such a capability was presented in 2007 as a recommendation of the European Commission-sponsored Study on the Availability and Robustness of p y yElectronic Communications Infrastructures (ARECI) and has since been well received by government and industry stakeholders in Europe and elsewhere

• The workshop ended with two focus groups examining issues related to: 1)Reliability and Security of Priority Communications and 2) Future Priority Communications
