IDOLS AND ICONS OF 1960S AGES.
NATIONAL IDOL: CRISTOBAL HALFFTER, MUSICIAN.
LITTLE INTRODUCTION
Cristóbal Halffter is one of the most recognised
composers and conductors of classical music in
Spain.
CHILDHOOD
He was born in 1930, in Leon, a town in the north
of Spain and near of Portugal, but when he was six
years old, his family moved to Germany to scape of
the Spanish Civil war and he returned in 1939. His
relationship with the german country and his
musician uncles Rodolfo and Ernesto, gived to him
much musical education.
YOUTH
After finished his elementary studies in German, he
completed his advanced studies of composition in
Madrid, in 1951. Then he started to learn about the
art of the orchestra conduction.
In twice musical subjects he suceed: He won the
National Prize of composition with his first concert
for piano and orchestra, and he achieved to
conducting the Falla Orchestra.
He can play and create classical musichighly…
ADULTHOOD
He become proffessor of the Royal Conservatory of
Madrid and then, he was the director of that center
when he was only 33 years old.
OUTPUT SPAIN
Director of the Royal Conservatory was an
incredible achieve but his talent was more than this.
In 1967 a scholarship was gifted to him to go to USA
and Berlin. Then, he realised a lot of works in
Darmstad and Friburg.
HIS MASTERPIECE
In 2000, he released his first opera: Don Quijote,
wich was written in three years and had only an act
but his cualities gived to him to the heaven of the
contemporary musicians one more time.
MORE OF HIS PIECES
The Adagio in rondo form for orchestra, was
released from the Vienna Philarmonic Orchestra in
2003.
His second opera, Lázaro, was released in 2008.
NOW A DAYS
Now he lives in his native town, León, with his
pianist wife and he still active in the music world.
