1. ICT Dealer Network

1.1. Overview

The ICT Dealer Network is the brainchild of a group of integrators that approached ICT with a vision. This vision was to bring together a network of like-minded professionals, raise the standards within the industry, and ensure the high quality installation of ICT products.

Recognizing that this was a solution that would benefit everybody – ICT, our integrators, and our customers – we've taken this initiative and made it a reality. Through a series of collaborative meetings and exercises, we've worked together to officially establish the terms and conditions, and the benefits available to members.

Most importantly, our integrators have been involved from the very beginning and have driven the project from conception to completion. It's our expectation that the IDN will continue to evolve based on ongoing input from its members and it will encompass a truly professional group of companies.

1.2. Purpose of the IDN

The IDN provides members with the market-leading product innovations, support, and services, needed to provide clients with high quality installations of ICT products.

With an emphasis on rigorous standards, including an audited qualification process to ensure our partners can deliver high levels of customer satisfaction, the integrity and guidelines of the program encourage members of the IDN to invest in their operations knowing they are supported by the most dynamic electronic security manufacturer in the industry. The advantage to ICT is a clear increase in market reach, improved customer satisfaction and a network of high quality security installation professionals.

While the main aim of the IDN is to protect the Protege GX brand by ensuring that installation of the product is carried out to the highest installation standards, there are many more benefits for both Integrators and ICT.

1.3. Member Benefits

The IDN has been designed to provide members with a unique set of solutions and benefits, focused on the ICT Protege GX range, to maximize their value proposition and business profitability. Key benefits to becoming part of the IDN include:

Brand Recognition: Integrated Control Technology is one of most advanced providers of unified intelligent electronic and access control solutions around the world. This brand recognition reduces the barrier to entry for new sales and project specifications. With a proven history, Integrated Control Technology is a stable, profitable, knowledgeable business that will be here to support our IDN members into the future. ICT is recognized as a trusted brand, with Integrated Control Technology products and systems used every day by tens of thousands of companies worldwide.

Promotion: For ICT to be able to promote our products, we need to be able to provide a trusted installation network. The IDN is actively promoted to consultants, end users and businesses looking at deploying ICT products, through the ICT media channels including the ICT website, a published list of Certified ICT Protege Integrators, and an IDN brochure. IDN members are eligible to promote their business to potential customers and clients via the ICT Protege Community. The higher the certification level the more prominently they will appear on the list. An annual membership certificate and ICT Dealer Network logo are provided to all IDN members. The IDN logo may be displayed on business cards and websites, identifying the integrator as a qualified ICT professional.

Priority Support: IDN members receive an elevated level of support including:

Priority ranking in the support queue

Web access to feature request and known issue tracking

The ability to submit feature requests via website

The opportunity to partake in beta testing programs

Enhanced Warranty: Members may apply for a 5 year extended warranty on any individual installation of ICT products provided they maintain IDN membership for the 5 year period.

Recognition: The top 5 performing IDN members will be announced annually and recognized in each distribution territory worldwide.

National and Global Reach: Access to other IDN members, allowing smaller integrators to use trusted partners in other locations for subcontract work both on a national and international stage.

1.4. IDN Member Responsibilities

IDN members have a responsibility to:

Abide by the rules and regulations of the IDN

Maintain the highest installation quality of ICT products

Always represent ICT and its products in a positive light

Provide ICT with market feedback to influence future development

Inform ICT of potential sales opportunities so assistance can be provided where appropriate

Lead with an ICT solution wherever possible

1.5. Continual Improvement

“Learning and innovation go hand in hand. The arrogance of success is to think that what you did yesterday will be sufficient for tomorrow.”

This quote by William Pollard, an English clergyman of the 19th century and made well before the smart phones and technology of today, describes the core values that drive the ICT team. We are never arrogant about our success, we are appreciative of the companies that use our products, and - most importantly - of the integrators that promote and service our solutions.

It is our dedication to strive for innovation that is the cornerstone of ICT. Carrying this through to the IDN, we need like-minded smart and professional companies that can take this innovation to market, and help customers exceed their needs.

2. Application Process

Integrators must go through each of the following steps before IDN membership can be approved.

2.1. Initiate Application

Integrators must contact ICT or an authorized ICT representative to initiate their application.

ICT or the nominated authorized ICT representative will then conduct a preliminary assessment, after which the online application process is enabled. This ensures all applicants are genuine, and means that if regional limits have been met, the application is prevented from going further. Refer to your Local Region Addendum for details of the regional limits in your area.

Existing IDN Members in the same region are notified of the application.

IDN membership applies to a branch, not the entire organization. Each branch office is required to apply individually.

2.2. Accept Terms and Conditions

Applicants are required to acknowledge that they have read and understand the terms and conditions of the IDN program before proceeding. The Non Disclosure Agreement (NDA) must also be signed and returned.

Access to Protege GX documents including pricing is now enabled. This is provided for assessment purposes only and applicants are not authorized to price GX jobs at this stage.

2.3. Provide Reference Sites

Applicants must submit three End User references from projects installed by the applicant within the last 3 years. These do not need to be Protege sites, but should be typical of the installations performed.

ICT must be able to contact the nominated end user at each site. Sensitive information does not need to be disclosed. End User references will be used only to assess customer experience.

2.4. Demonstrate Installation Quality

Applicants must provide photos and supporting documentation to demonstrate that their typical quality of installation is in line with the standards set out by the IDN (see page 12), including the standard of wiring, hardware installation, and project documentation.

Photographs and documents may be of ICT Protege products, or may be of a similar type of access control or automation product.

Photographs and documents may be from a single or multiple sites. Their location and other details are not required to be disclosed.

Photographs and documents may even be of a system built specifically for the purpose of the IDN application process as long as what is shown is typical of a normal access control project.

For a full list of items to be supplied, refer to Providing Evidence of Installation Quality (see page 15).

ICT or an authorized ICT representative may, at their discretion, carry out one or more site audits for the purpose of assessing installation standards. In this case, the ICT representative will be responsible for gathering evidence and signing off each of the installation standards as demonstrated to an acceptable level.

2.5. Pending Membership Granted

Once the site references and installation quality have been approved, pending IDN membership is granted allowing the integrator to purchase a training pack and pursue certification.

No other Protege GX hardware or software can be purchased at this stage.

Pending IDN members are not permitted to provide pricing or proposals for the installation or maintenance of Protege GX systems. The only exception to this is when ICT or an authorized ICT representative has specifically approved work to begin on the project required in section 2.8 of this document.

Existing IDN Members are notified of the update in application status.

2.6. Complete Training

Technicians must now complete training. This can be completed online or through a facilitated course.

2.7. Gain Certification

At least one technician must sit and pass the Level 1 GX certification exam.

Support for Protege GX will only be provided to certified technicians.

2.8. Undertake a New GX Project

To demonstrate your commitment to ICT and Protege GX, you now need to bring a new GX project to ICT. This project must not be an existing tender and must not have been registered by another IDN member.

Purchasing of GX equipment is approved for this project only. You may not buy Controllers or software for other projects at this stage.

Pending IDN members are not permitted to provide pricing or proposals for the installation or maintenance of any other Protege GX systems.

2.9. Site Audit

A site audit (see page 17) of the new project is performed to ensure that the project has been installed to the standards set out by the IDN.

2.10. Final Approval

Once the site audit is complete, the annual IDN membership fee is paid and a certificate issued. The integrator is now an IDN member and can purchase Protege GX products.

In order to maintain IDN membership, Integrators must have a minimum of one certified Level 1 GX Installer in their direct employ. Technicians are required to complete re-certification on an annual basis for Level 1, or every two years for Levels 2 and 3.

6. Site Audits

Site audits are used to ensure a project has been installed to the standards set out by the IDN. Audits shall be performed:

on a new project undertaken as part of the IDN application process

on all projects applying for a 5 year warranty

on a minimum of one project per annum

ICT also reserves the right (with end user approval) to audit any Protege GX site within 12 months of commissioning.

6.1. Site Audit Requirements

The integrator must:

a) sign a declaration to confirm that they have complied with the installation standards set out in Section 4,

- and -

b) supply photographic and documented evidence (see page 15) to demonstrate that the project selected for audit meets the IDN standards. This should be supplied in the format as set out in section 5 (see page 15).

ICT may, at their discretion, waive the requirement to supply evidence, and accept the declaration as sufficient.

6.2. Onsite Audits

At ICTs discretion, the integrator may be required to complete an onsite audit.

Prior to an onsite audit, the integrator must supply the following information to ICT:

Physical address of the site

Number of equipment cabinets on site

Clear photographs of the interiors of each equipment cabinet, labeled with a reference to that cabinet.

Number of access controlled doors on site

Onsite audits will be carried out by one of the following:

A third party auditor selected by ICT

An ICT employee

A representative nominated by ICT

A standard onsite audit will include a full inspection of:

one cabinet or enclosure, nominated by the auditor or by ICT on the day of the audit

two doors and all associated devices such as readers, locks, etc, as nominated by the auditor or ICT on the day of the audit

a section of cabling, as nominated by the auditor or ICT on the day of the audit

the programmed GX database

all project documentation.

It is the responsibility of the integrator to provide an employee for the duration of the audit. This employee will be responsible for the opening and dismantling of all equipment for inspection. In the case of heat-shrunk terminations, the heat-shrink may need to be removed if the termination is not visible. Removal and re-connection of the heat-shrink will be the responsibility of the employee of the integrator.

A standard audit is allocated 4 hours. Should additional time be required due to items not meeting IDN standards, or where site access adds unreasonable time, this will be charged at the rate prescribed in the current ICT pricelist.

6.3. Cost of an Onsite Audit

6.3.1. The cost of any onsite audits performed as part of the IDN application process and for projects applying for a 5 year warranty are the integrators responsibility and should be considered when quoting the job.

6.3.2. ICT may, at their discretion, choose to audit any Protege GX site within 12 months of commissioning. In this case, the cost for the audit shall be covered by ICT.

6.3.3. There will be a one off fee for a standard onsite audit. This will be charged at the rate prescribed in the current ICT pricelist.

6.3.4. Should additional time be required due to items not meeting IDN standards, or where site access adds unreasonable time, this will be charged at the rate prescribed in the current ICT pricelist.

6.3.5. Where possible, onsite audits will be scheduled so that multiple audits can be carried out in the same area on the same day. For urgent audits, or where scheduled dates can’t be met, additional travel charges may be incurred by the integrator.

6.4. Items Not Meeting IDN Standards

If an audit reveals any items that do not meet IDN standards, a notice of Corrective Action Required (CAR) shall be issued and the integrator given 90 days to address the issue(s) raised.

If the item(s) not meeting the IDN standards are deemed to be of a serious nature, the auditor may choose to audit additional items to ensure the issue is an isolated occurrence. If this additional auditing requires extra time, this will be charged at the rate prescribed in the current ICT price list. The integrator will be notified prior to any additional auditing being carried out.

If a CAR notice is issued during an audit of a project that is undertaken as part of the IDN application process, the applicant may, at the discretion of the auditor, be required to have their next Protege GX project audited

The integrator has the right to respond and if a valid reason is given, an exception may be made. Otherwise, the integrator will be responsible for correcting the issue within 90 days and supplying photographic evidence.
