whitening?
New laws mean that ONLYDENTISTS can offer teethwhitening using peroxide. It is illegal for anyone other than a dentist (e.g., beauticians,hairdressers, or salon staff) towhiten teeth using peroxide.
The products you can buy online or from the shops are often notclear about exactly what theycontain so it’s very difficult to know if they are safe to use. Also, they won’t produce thesame results you can expect by visiting your dentist.
Dentist-prescribed teethwhitening using the tray system isin most cases very predictable andsuccessful. If your teeth are likelyto be more difficult to treat, yourdentist will inform you in advance.
A low but highly effectiveconcentration of hydrogenperoxide (bleach) is applied toyour teeth using specially madetrays that properly fit aroundyour teeth.
Your dentist can estimate froma chart what improvement incolour you’re likely to achieve.He/she will also give you anidea of how long treatment willtake – usually up to two weeks.
