ICW #12 Group conformity is definitely something that is, and has been, used in society. Group conformity in the Asch experiment demonstrates that conformity occurs in many forms. In a group, a person will deny facts to make themselves feel more comfortable. But, once given someone else or the opportunity to shield their answers, they will use fact and their own opinion to answer questions. Group conformity happens on the social level as well. For example, my friends and i were discussing a movie we saw and another girl, who I knew had never seen the movie, chimed in to the conversation to make herself feel less awkward about not being involved in the first place. Conformity is definitely a real thing and to me, it is annoying. P.S. I learned about and studied this during psychology class in high school! It’s an interesting concept!
