    Scientists and students from all mem ber states of the United Nations, UNESCO or IAEA may attend the activity.

    As the activity will be conducted in English, participants must have an adequate working knowledge of that language.

    While the principal purpose of the Centre is to help research workers from developing countries, s tudents and post-

    doctoral scientists from developed countries are als o welcome to attend.

    There is no regis tration fee to be paid.

    Research: January 2008 to date:Scientificofficer

    Water Energy and Environmental Programme

    National Institute for Scientific and Industrial Research.

    Duties:

    - Generating scientific knowledge in Water, energy, Climate Change, Pollution Control an

    environment and transferring gained knowledge and developed technology to industries

    and communities.- Managing the Meteorology/weather Station, collecting, analyzing and interpreting the

    data for weather interpretation and sending the information to the national early warning

    system

    - Preparing Research Proposals and monitoring their implementation.

    - Conducting Research and mobilizing Research funds and identifying research problem

    - Training Students, new graduates and Technical staff and managing energy and

    hydrology sections

    - Providing Analytical Services to industry and the general public in Water, energy and

    Environment.

    - Obtaining data and interpreting results for water quality and public health interpretation

    - Reviewing manuscripts and technical reports for publication.

    - Evaluating and writing technical reports.

    Developing and carrying out engineering and scientific research and project

    Reason for participation

    Briefly describe your reasons for applying and how you would benefit from participation in this activity.

    Reason: Your Institute is offering an excellent course which is very applicable to developing

    countries and the world at large. In my efforts to contribute to the growing water demand

    in my country I am continually and highly looking forward to increase and improve my

    expertise in this field so that I can highly contribute to advanced research and national

    plus world-wide consultancy, especially, with current need for Water management in this

    Climate change scenario. One of the Major Development goals among the millennium

    development goals is to ensure environmental sustainability. This includes WaterResources Management, sanitation, and proper treatment and supply of water. There is

    need for great care to Natural resources such as streams, rivers, lakes, springs, dams,

    forests, watersheds, etc. I highly need to be part of the solution and greatly contribute to

    Water supply and sanitation. In our Nation More expertise are needed in this field &I have

    passion for national development. This training will highly enhance my research and

    modelling techniques
