SECTION A
I) Read the passage carefully:
The Mysterious Garden Rant
It was summer vacation and Meghana was bored. She tried to convince her Grandpa to take her to the movies. In an effort to divert her attention, he said," Shall we find out who is squawking in the garden? Let us be detectives today." Meghana was not too happy but he was not taking 'no' for an answer. "First let's go to the garden. Come on Megs! This way to the garden," Grandpa said. They went out to the garden and looked around, looked in the branches and under the leaves but, they couldn't find the squawking bird. Meghana gave up, frowned and went and sat on the porch steps. She said, "Grandpa, where could the squawking be coming from?" Grandpa said, "When the rainy season kicks in, the parrots begin to squawk insistently." They were quite engrossed in their talk and did not see a rather large raven come up and sit on a branch. Suddenly, the raven let out a loud squawk. Meghana and Grandpa looked up in surprise. There was a large bird with shiny black feathers, just waiting to be found. Grandpa said, "Why don't you feed the little bird with some grains and seeds?" Meghana ran inside and bought a handful of grains from the kitchen. She scattered the grains on the porch floor for the raven to eat. Since then, the raven would perch on the window of Meghna's bedroom whenever she returned from school and squawk. And Meghana would give it grains everyday to eat. She named the bird Squawky.
