DownloadConcordia’scustomizedversionofiClicker
TouseMoodleintegration,youwillneedtodownloadConcordia’scustomizedversionoftheiClickersoftwarefromthe“iCLICKERRESOURCES”Moodlepage.
Toaccessthesite,logintoMyConcordiaportalandclicktheiClickerResourceslinkbelowthe“MyMoodleCourses”heading.Onthenewpage,entericlickintothe“EnrolmentKey”boxandthenclicktheEnrolmebutton.
Alternatively,youcanlogindirectlyatmoodle.concordia.causingthesamenetnameandpassword.Thenyoucanusethesearchboxonthehomepagetolocateandself-enrolintothe“iCLICKERRESOURCES”site.
Onceonthesite,downloadtheversionofthesoftwarethatworkswithyouroperatingsystem.
NOTE:ForMacSierrausers,pleaseusethe“iClickerforMacOSSierra”Guideforthepreliminarysetup
Decompressthezippedfile
Notethatthedownloaded.zipfileisacompressedfolder.TodecompressthezippedfileonaPC,right-clickonit,selectExtractAll,andthenclicktheExtractbuttononthepop-upwindow.YouwillfindthedecompressediClickerfolderinthesamelocationwheretheoriginal.zipfileisplaced.
OnaMac,simplydouble-clickthezippedfileanditwillautomaticallybedecompressedintothesamelocationwherethezippedfileisplaced.YoucanthenmovetheunzippediClickerfolderontoaUSBkeyorsomewhereonyourlaptop–-whicheveryouwillbeusingtolaunchiClicker.

Step1:MapiClickercoursewithcorrespondingMoodlecourse
TouseMoodleintegration,youwillfirstneedtomapyouriClickercoursetothecorrespondingcourseinMoodle.
1. Double-clicktheiClickericoninyouriClickerfoldertostarttheapplication.
2. OntheiClickermainwindow,clicktheCreatebuttontoaddyourcourse.Gotostep5ifyouhavealreadycreatedyourcourse.

3. EnteryourCourseName.NOTE:ThecoursenameyouenterheredoesnothavetobeanexactmatchwithyourMoodlecoursename.YoucanchangeyourcoursenameanytimebygoingtoSettings>Generaltab>CourseName.
4. ClicktheCreatebutton.YouwillthenbebacktotheiClickermainwindowwithyourcoursenameinthelistofcourses.

ToreceivecreditfortheiriClickerresponses,studentsmustregistertheiriClickerremotes.YoucanusethefollowingtemplatetogivestudentsinstructionsonhowtoregisterinMoodle.Theinstructionsarealsoavailableasastandalonedocumentthatyoucanfindinthe“Documentation”sectionoftheiClickerServiceCatalogpageoronthe“iClickerResources”Moodlesite.HowtoRegisterYouriClickerRemoteinMoodle

Step3:Synchronizeyourroster
OnceyourstudentshaveregisteredtheiriClickerremotesinMoodle,youcanimportyourstudentroster(completewithregistrationdata)intotheiClickergradebooksopollingdatacanbecreditedtoyourstudents.Youcansynctherosterbeforerunningapollingsessionorafteroneormorepollingsessions.
1. OpeniClickerandclickOpenGradebook.
2. ClicktheSyncRostericon.
NOTE:Beforethesynchronization,onlyremoteIDsaredisplayedinthegradebook.Theyappearinredandarelinkedwithpollingresults.Afterthesynchronization,studentnamesappearinthegradebook.IfallofyourstudentshaveregisteredtheirremotesinMoodle,theirnameswillbedisplayedinbluereplacingtheirrespectiveremoteIDs(youcanseeastudent’sremoteIDbydouble-clickinghisorhername).Ifyouhaveunregisteredstudents,theirnameswillshowupinredandtheirremoteIDsremaindisplayedinred.

Recommendations:
• Sincetherosterdoesnotsyncitselfautomatically,werecommendthatyouSyncRosterveryfrequentlyespeciallyafterthedrop/addperiodisoverinordertokeepyourrosterup-to-date.Somestudentsmayalsoberegisteringtheirremoteondailybasisespeciallyatthebeginningofthesemester.
• IdentifytheunregisteredstudentsandcontactthemtoremindthemtoregistertheirremotesoraddtheirstudentIDintheapp.YoucanalsoaskfortheremoteIDsandmanuallyregistertheminthegradebookbydouble-clickingeithertheirnameortheirremoteIDandthenfollowingtheinstructions.However,youcannotmanuallyregistertheappusers.ThesewillbedisplayedasunknownReefusersuntilyousyncyourroster.

Step4:UploadyouriClickerpollingdata
MakesuretosynctherosterbeforeuploadingiClickerscorestoMoodle.
1. LaunchiClicker,selectyourcourseandclickOpenGradebook.
2. FromtheGradebookmainwindow,selectSyncScores.

3. Fromthe“UploadScorestoLMS”window,selectthesession(s)youwishtouploadandclickNext.
4. CustomizeyouruploadeddatathenclicktheUploadbutton.Aconfirmationmessageappearsonceyourdataisuploaded.

Step5:ReviewiClickerscoresinMoodle
OnceyouhaveuploadedyouriClickerpollingdatatoyourMoodlecourse,youcanreviewthescoresintheMoodlegradebook.
1. LogintoMoodleandaccessyourcourse.
2. ClickonGradesinthe“Courseadministration”block.
3. The“Graderreport”pagewillopenwithyournewlyimportediClickerscores.Thesessionscoreswillappearasnumericscoresunderthecategoryname“iclickerpollingscores”andmaybeeditedlikeanyotherscoreswithinMoodle.
ImportediClickerScoresinMoodleGradebook
Recommendation:
IfyouplantousetheMoodlegradebooktocalculateyourcoursetotal,theiClickerscoresneedtobeproperlyintegratedintothetotalgrades.PleasecontacttheMoodlesupportteamatmoodle@lists.concordia.cashouldyouneedanyhelpwiththeMoodlegradebook.
