ICE ® PRODUCT SUITE OVERVIEW ICE ® - Intelligent Control of Energy ® for data centers ICE is a Software Defined Power ® platform developed by Virtual Power Systems, that exercises intelligent control of power utilization in data centers. The ICE Center uses the existing data center infrastructure footprint to deliver more power, elasticizing the power capacity as a resource pool. It intelligently and dynamically allocates power to racks, branch circuits, and IT nodes; with a constant awareness of the power consumption needs across the data center topology. This continuous decision-making process optimizes power consumption and creates capacity for additional IT servers. ICE allows data centers to increase the capacity utilization, reliability, and availability of the existing infrastructure. VPS ICE solutions are a combination of hardware and software modules that can be placed on the power control plane within the topological configuration of a data center. It is vendor and technology agnostic, being flexible to accomplish the data center needs with the ICE mechanisms.

ICE is a Software Defined Power® platform developed by Virtual Power Systems, that exercises intelligent control of power

The ICE Software platform enables power capacitance in a rack or branch circuit, by making intelligent use of batteries in power hardware provided by third parties. It acquires relevant real time metrics about power use and IT operations from third party sensors and interfaces. It uses this to automatically and intelligently power distribution through third party power hardware controls and IT management systems.
