SognoI would like to share with you a dream I had a few nights ago.

A spark suddenly lighted up in the darkness of night, way up and afar in the heavens and I became an abstractentity, not human but endowed with the light of reason.

A voice from nowhere, of an incredibly caring and harmonic tone, told me it was time to go to Earth.

Earth! That word revived in me a distant memory of a previous life lived there.

Why go back to Earth? I have already been there and things are not going the way you would like them to. Can Ihave an easier assignment, or just stay here close to you?

Why are you feeling that way about Earth? the voice asked me.

Well, I did not have a straight trip the previous time I walked the road of life there.

I believed I knew how to get to you, it was such a hard walk instead with sudden stops and detours; other times Ihad to start all over again! Surely I loved life and the marvels of your creation: the sun, the sea, the trees, themountains and the changing seasons. I loved so dearly my family and those close to me and, I tried to extend love

    to other people as well

The voice said, I gave you the sun to comfort you, variety in nature for you to enjoy and to live with. I gave you thecompany of others so you could live together, help each other and prosper.

Yes, I understand. I am so grateful for all that but if I am sent back there, I'll have to find a new path and also findpeople willing to go along that same path. What I remember is that not all people were truly interested in the walkto get closer to you, while others did not want to go the same way at all!

He said, Many roads lead to me and they are not all the same. You will have to find yours. Turn on your light andshare it with others.

I will do that, I replied, but why the Earth? There should be an easier planet please in this immense

    universe!

That's exactly the reason I am sending you back there: your love is far from perfection.

In your previous life you just loved things you appreciated, things close to you or useful to you. The scale of yourlove tilted heavily toward self-gratification. Your acceptance of the world was limited and in fact you would rathergive it another try somewhere else!

So I am giving you one more chance to go and implement my desire. I created all this immense diversity for theUniverse to work as one through every single element of it.

Provide yourself with a light so strong to see far and wide around you; one so powerful that can illuminate thedark matter that paves the roads between the galaxies. At that point you will truly see how everything is connected

and will understand the purpose of my creations. Only then you will find out how to get to me and stay with me.Another spark brightly and quietly flashed, this time inside my mind, to suddenly wake me up in the uncertain earlymorning light. I anxiously pulled myself up seated on the bed in search of my aging face reflected by the mirroracross the room; I relaxed and smiled reassured by the familiar sight of myelf. That smile, though, only lasted for amoment as I asked to myself a commonly recurring and ageless question: "How much time is left....Will I haveanother chance?"

There is no certainty of another chance and time is never enough" I concluded while going to the kitchen toprepare my usual Italian coffee. I loaded the machine for a strong double shot of espresso to jump start both mindand body. "Carpe diem, post noctem meminisse," I said resolute while pushing the button; and ready I was to seizeanother beautiful day.
