Guided Reading Groups Reading groups have begun in First Grade! This means that your child may be working in a different classroom with another Collegiate Leader during ELA Time on M, Tu, Th, F! The 9:00-10:00 ELA time is spent in 3 rotations: Guided Reading, Word Work, and Independent Reading. Ask your Champion all about it. (This is a GREAT time for volunteers to assist in the classroom, so be sure to sign up if you’d like to participate!) Ask your Champion: About this week’s Spanish phrase. Jajaja (hahaha) To describe some differences between the present and the past To write a number sentences and equation for: Learning Targets : I can plan to write a story. I can add two numbers (addends) together to find the sum. I can talk about the past, present, and future. BOOK DONATIONS to replenish our grade level

library. Any books will be greatly appreciated,

but leveled books (levels A-J)

would be the most beneficial.

Books may be used or newly purchased.

leveled books!

ICI’s Holiday Assistance

All K-8th grade champions have brought home a form for ICI’s Holiday Assistance program.

Families who need assistance with gifts during the holidays should complete this form.

Please see Mrs. Gillis or Mrs. Hicks at the front desk to turn forms in or if you need extra forms for multiple

children (or feel free to make your own copies). You should fill out one form for each child.

Please contact Mr. Mitchell or Mrs. Kinnaird if you have any questions. Thank you!

Field Trips

Thank you to all the parents and chaperones who helped make our Old Salem trip so successful!

Our next trip is on October 26th to see Pete The Cat at the Diana Wortham Theater.
