Chapter 1. Introduction to Data Protection for Microsoft SQLServer messages

Messages with prefix ACO are issued by IBM Tivoli Storage Manager forDatabases, Data Protection for Microsoft SQL Server. Data Protection for MicrosoftSQL Server interacts with the IBM Tivoli Storage Manager backup-archive clients. When Data Protection for Microsoft SQL Server runs, you might see messages frombackup-archive clients. Backup-archive clients messages have prefix ANS or prefixFMV, depending on which licenses you installed.

For information about ANS messages, see ANS 0000-9999 messages(http://www.ibm.com/support/knowledgecenter/SSGSG7_7.1.3/client.msgs/r_client_messages.html).

For information about FMV messages, see FMV messages (http://www.ibm.com/support/knowledgecenter/SS36V9_4.1.3/fcm.msgs/fcm_fmv_messages.html).

Data Protection for Microsoft SQL Server messages formatIBM Tivoli Storage Manager for Databases, Data Protection for Microsoft SQLServer messages consist of the following elements:v A three-letter prefix.v A numeric message identifier.v A one-letter severity code, also called the message type.v Message text that is displayed on screen and written to message logs.v Explanation, System Action, and User Response texts. These texts elaborate on

the message text and are accessible only in documentation.

The image presents a typical Data Protection for Microsoft SQL Server message.

The callouts on the right of the image identify each element of the message.
