ABL Consolidates it's DataCentre on IBM Blades

MCB (Muslim Commercial Bank) selected IBM Power Systems 780 inHA environment with energy efficient IBM Blades Centre H & HS22Blades for its complete Data Center Consolidation across the bank. The bank wanted to consolidate and relocate it's multiple Data Centersinto one location for improved performance, better reliability &manageability, reduce OPEX & floor space to make it more energyefficient and resilient for providing mission critical services to itscustomers.MCB Bank was convinced that IBM Power Systems & IBM Bladestechnology will give best ROI & TCO with greater benefits in terms ofenergy efficiency, performance, reliability and consolidation using highlyvirtualized environment to reduce floor space and OPEX on operationsand licensing.IBM Business Partner TechAccess closed the deal.

MCB opts for IBM toconsolidate its Data Center

IBM's Solution Enables Faysal Bank's GrowthIBM's cross-brand solution, with offerings from STG, GTS and SWG, helpedFaysal Bank, one of Pakistan's leading private banks, consolidate its diverseIT environment, ensure its scalability and resiliency and establish a platformfor its aggressive growth plans.FBL, in the process of acquiring another bank, required improvedperformance to cater to this growth in operations. Another challenge wasthe multiple applications running Oracle on x86 environments with silos ofstorage across departmental SANs (Storage Area Networks). This resultedin a major server/storage sprawl in FBL's data centre, posing a future riskof space and energy in their existing data centre.

In addition, the operational cost of maintaining these servers was increasingdue to power consumption. The client needed a solution that couldconsolidate physical servers with dynamic resource adjustments and saveenergy at the same time.IBM was chosen for its ability to deliver a solution which was capable ofbeing virtualized, saving costs, simplifying management and meeting FBL'sneed of providing services to its customers at will. The company required to adapt quickly to new and upcoming DC technologies and at the same time needed an infrastructure tohelp them build and provision cloud-based services for employees. And lastlyUfone needed a technology partner who would not only help them design, build and implement Networking Infrastructure, but also integrate varioustechnologies together.Team IBM proposed a core switching solution based on Cisco state-of-the-art Nexus Series. This will not only help Ufone increase its switching capacitybut also adapt to the new DC technologies quickly. New architecture of CiscoNexus switches and IBM's design capabilities will also help Ufone build itsprivate cloud in order to provide new services to its employees quickly. IBMwill integrate Juniper's SRX series firewall with Cisco core switching in orderto build a separate security layer.IBM has pioneered in Cloud technology and has deep understanding ofTelecom Industry especially from Network Design and Integration perspectives.
