What is Maximo Spatial Asset Management?• Provides a GIS solution that allows users to ‘visualize, question, analyze, and interpret data to
understand relationships, patterns, and trends.’• Allows users to look at data in a way that is quickly understood and easily shared on a map.• Creates a level of awareness and insight that tabular systems without graphics cannot provide.
2
Maximo Spatial Asset Management
Add-on solution combined with Maximo Asset Management and Maximo IndustrySolutions – except – Maximo for Utilities which includes the Spatial applications.
• Spatial must be used in combination with Esri ArcGIS.– Customers must purchase Esri ArcGIS Server/ArcGIS online and any required analyst desktop
licenses separately from Esri or an authorized agent.ng and Pricing • Utilities Industry Solution
Licensing • Utilities: Per Authorized and Limited Use license• Spatial : Per Authorized Use and Install metric. (Install metric does not apply to Utilities even though
Spatial features are included.)

What’s New in Spatial 7.6?
5
Maximo Spatial 7.6 – ArcGIS Feature Support
Maximo Spatial 7.6 has been updated to ArcGIS Feature Services.
• Spatial will now allow users to not only interface with the ArcGIS geodatabase and its REST API’s but also with feature services.
• Feature Services allow integration to the ArcGIS Server by only using the ArcGIS Server’s published URLs and will not require a dblink between Maximo and GIS.
6
Maximo Spatial 7.6 – ArcGIS Online• With the latest ESRI technology you can now utliize ArcGIS Online maps. This is an
online, collaborative web GIS that allows users to use, create, and share maps, scenes, apps, layers, analytics, and data.
7
Maximo Spatial 7.6 – Simplification • A simplified configuration process and a newly designed map tools for greater efficiency.
8
Maximo Spatial 7.6 – Data Synchronization
• Enhanced the data synchronization between Maximo and the ArcGIS Feature Services.• Introduced a JSON Mapping application (xRef app)
9
Maximo Linear 7.6• Introducing the capability to display Maximo Linear information on the map.
10
Maximo Linear 7.6• Display, Identify, Query, Select, Analysis using Maximo Linear data on the map. Usage of
the existing Maximo Spatial map tools with Maximo Linear data.
11
Maximo Linear 7.6
12
Maximo Linear 7.6• Pre-configured and no extra steps are required in ArcGIS. New Linear tab inside the
Maximo Map Manager application defines what Maximo Linear information will be presented and how will be presented on the map.
13
Map Work Center• GIS Centric application that uses the
map as the primary UI to have access to Maximo data and tools.
• Leverage other existing Work Centers to be used and opened from the Map Work Center. Ex: Manage Assets, Work Execution etc.
• Configurable map layers and actions defined by configuration and automation scripts.

Adding Intelligence to Maximo - Density Cluster Layer
"What if we could" highlight on the map a set of records that are geographically near and are presenting a common behavior? For example, a set of assets at the same area are failing due to a similar cause. We want to highlight that pattern on the map!
This is possible using a density cluster machine learning technique that combines the geographic vicinity with Maximo information. We want to make that configurable.

Adding Intelligence to Maximo – Tracking Moving Assets
"What if we could" learn from the historical gps data and identify abnormal scenarios that the vehicle took an unexpected/unused route? This is possible using Machine Learning to monitor and look for novelties.
Optimize and adjust model
Adjust existing model based on new location data created from the assets
Manage Assets
Connect processes, resources, and maintenance.
Predict future location
Analyze existing location information and build a model for location information
Geo Monitor
Monitor asset location and attributes related to it
Recommend when novelties are found
Detect novelties when the location goes outside the existing model and create alerts

Adding Intelligence to Maximo – Handling Unstructured Text
"What if we could" guess Work Orders/Service Requests fields from the unstructured text present on the description fields? For example, giving a work order description, what is the most probable Failure Code for it?
The goal is "answer" questions and give to the end user information about "how reliable” the answers are. This is possible through a combination of several Machine Learning techniques.
Combined with speech-to-text capabilities we can leverage map centric actions to the next level.

Maximo Spatial Technology
• Embeds Esri’s ArcGIS server technology directly into IBM Maximo Asset Management’s user interface.
• Maximo 7.6 updated to interface with ArcGIS Feature Services.
• Spatial allows Maximo to interface to the ArcGIS geodatabase and it’s REST API’s.
• In Maximo 7.6 interfaces with Feature Services as an option to the geodatabase interface.
• Feature Services will allow Maximo Spatial to integrate to ArcGIS Server by only using the ArcGIS Server’s published URLs and it will not require dblink between Maximo and GIS.
• Supports different databases than the ones used by Maximo and also mixed database scenarios. e.g. Maximo using DB2 and ArcGIS using SQL Server.
