What is Sense and Respond Solution? Sense and Respond Solution is a tool and system that uses

Business Monitor V6 and Research’s Model Driven Business Transformation (MDBT) to provide:

o Creating UML models to generate code for all of the items below

o Monitoring events

o Real-time analysis of the data in the events and referencing other data

o Alerting people and systems when appropriate based on the analysis of the events

o Creating and populating a DB2 performance database to store the results of the analysis

o Creating a dashboard using Alphablox for viewing and drill down into the performance database

o Integration of Analytics and Optimizations services.

What are the problems that need to be solved?

o Monitor process events, analyze data, provide results and alert when necessary

o Receive data (events) analyze data, provide results, and provide results database for end user

o Receive data and/or monitor events, analyze data, provide results and alert when necessary and provide results database for end user

o In the above – require low cost, fast time to implementation and easy to change solution.

Benefits of using SRS BPMo SRS BPM builds on IBM WebSphere Process Server (WPS)

and Common Event Infrastructure (CEI) Model driven development that generates Java Code reduces coding by 70%

o Model driven development reduces overall project time by 50%

o Uses shared runtime infrastructure for multiple models which reduces the ongoing operational cost to run each model

o Shared Production Infrastructure currently in TAP environment

• Automated Problem Determination (APD) for CPT• Hub Visibility Portal (HVP) for ISC

o Shared Production Infrastructure on ZLinux to be operational in Oct 2007 with Sales Out Forecasting Channel Collaboration (SOFCC)

Problem and Benefits of B2B E2E Automated Problem Determination (APD) B2B Probes alert when an E2E system is unavailable, but we do not know

which system is unavailable and E2E manual problem determination delays the start of the system fix and is costly

APD Benefits

o Savings of 30 to 60 minutes unavailability of application per incident by alerting the major system support staff sooner

o Achieve the SLA with the Customer

Actual hub inventory 14DOS (6wks T2 w/ roll)14DOS (2wks T2 w/ roll) m inm ax

Analysis and Focus Items

System x suppliers do not keep 10 DOS.

Generally 10 DOS > Max

Since we rely on outsource hub management, we set the min at the safety stock level to ensure the serviceability level, and use the max to limit the inventory liability risk

Hub inventory levels will fluctuate significantly week-to-week. In particular, actual hub inventory might fall outside of the min-max range but not necessarily violate the desired hub availability target.

*Accurate liability projections will depend on “high-water mark” max liabilities etc. which will require a linkage to LMS.

Dynamic Inventory Optimization allows for real time responsiveness
