On Tuesday, May 22 starting at 6:30 p.m. at the Parkview Library, please

welcome Dr. Michael Martin, director of the Center for Louisiana Studies at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. He will be discussing how terms

like "authentic" are used to define cultural hallmarks of Cajun culture, notably food and music, and will tie that in with our state's efforts to attract

tourists interested in such things. He will also talk about where the notion of "authenticity" comes from and how it has changed over the years. To register

for this culturally enriched program, call the Main Library at 364.7150.

All of the books were relocated throughout

the library. The non-fiction area had to be completely cleared out!

On Monday, March 26, library staff

started moving books from the

non-fiction area. It

took three full days to empty the space.

Main Library, don’t forget that you can bring all book donations

make sure to drop off your

donations during regular business hours at any

Iberia Parish Library location, except the Main Library.

PLEASE do not use the Main

Library book drop for

donations.
