- 18 new University scheduled SmartRooms by Fall 01.
- Rollout of wireless connectivity planned in Kennedy Library and UU.

What We Did To Meet Your Needs
2000 IACC Sweep Summary– Added 10 University scheduled SmartRooms during Summer
2000. Will add 8 additional SmartRooms over Summer 2001.– Provided DHCP network connectivity to over 80% of classrooms
and labs.– Added 19 Laptop computers and 12 Computer Projectors to
increased “portability” for presentations.– Wireless Trial with College of Architecture, College of Business– 14 Digital Cameras and 12 DV Camcorders added for digital
capture. eBeam electronic whiteboards and Polycom ViaVideo desktop video conferencing units now available for checkout.

Benefits Derived in FY 00/01
Wireless technology– Completed technology trial; doing pilot rollout in Library
(Summer), UU (Fall) with notebooks for checkout. Defined support for mobile users will result based on pilot.
Digital Technologies– Available classroom and checkout inventory increased by
18% in FY 00-01– New Linux video streaming server allows users to post
videos to the server from any location. (Need your help to ramp up this service!)
Mediated Classrooms– More courses, students, and faculty can use Smart Rooms – Added HVAC to Dexter Media Presentation Rooms; Bldg 20
and Bldg 10 by Fall
