• Reconstruct and expand 45 miles of I‐39/90 from four to six lanes.
• Reconfigure 11 interchanges.
• Four to eight lanes from WIS 11 (Avalon Rd.) to the WIS 26 interchange in Janesville.

2016 Construction Schedule• I‐39/90 southbound temporary widening, north of Edgerton.
o Replacement of I‐39/90 southbound bridge over E. Church Road.
• Three interchange reconstruction projects:
o US 51 interchange (southbound side), near Stoughton
o WIS 11 (Avalon Road) interchange, south of Janesville
o WIS 59 interchange near Newville
• Rock River bridges, just south of the WIS 59 interchange
• I‐39/90 expansion between the Rock County line and Knutson Road.
• Temporary widening of I‐39/90 southbound through Janesville area, including WIS 26 and US 14 southbound bridges.
• US 14 and WIS 140 intersection improvements; WIS 140 safety enhancements.
• Hart Road alternate route improvements and Hart Road bridge replacement over I‐39/90.
• Numerous bridge replacements over I‐39/90 in Dane and Rock counties.
• Bridge rehabilitation:
o I‐39/90 northbound bridge over Newville Road, south of the WIS 59 interchange.
o I‐39/90 southbound bridge over Turtle Creek, near County S interchange.
Note: More projects may be added to the 2016 construction schedule.

• Staged construction
• Pilot project for Queue Warning System
• Prime contractor: Rock Road Companies, Inc.
• Bridge contractor: Lunda Construction, Inc.
I‐39/90 and Rock River bridges• Extensive outreach and communication to
boaters and water enthusiasts.
• 13 public/private boat launches along Rock River and Lake Koshkonong with boater safety awareness signs and free informational flyers.
