Kanji, kana
• First we are going to tell you about Japanese writing.
• We use 2 different alphabets, Kanji and Kana.
(Showing the calligraphy work)
• This is a Kanji which is originally from China.
• This Kanji means “England”.
• This is kana which was invented in Japan.
• It means ”Rina”, which is my name.
• Today you are going to write this kanji with your name in Kana.

• Now you are going to learn how to write the
kanji with a pen.
• We always write the Kanji in the same way.
• There are 8 steps.
