Our approach to safety begins at the drawing board and continues with the construction of a rigid body that’s reinforced with high-tensile strength steel, manufactured in our own environmentally friendly steel mills, using Australian materials. We also incorporate a comprehensive array of active safety technologies to help the driver avoid accidents, supported by numerous passive safety devices that provide maximum protection for occupants in the event of an impact.

Brake Assist System (BAS) BAS helps minimise the stopping distance by applying maximum brake force when the system senses an emergency braking situation.

Vehicle Stability Management (VSM) Hyundai’s state-of-the-art VSM System takes active safety one step further. Using integrated information from the vehicle’s other active systems including ESC and TCS, VSM intuitively applies steering assistance in appropriate circumstances in order to help guide the driver to the best steering position in a given situation.

Traction Control System (TCS) Working in tandem with ESC, the Traction Control System helps the driver prevent wheel spin under hard acceleration, when starting on a slippery surface or driving up a steep incline.

7 Airbags system In the event of a collision, you’ve got protection thanks to a comprehensive system of 7 airbags. This includes driver and front passenger airbags, nearside and offside curtain airbags, driver and front passenger side thorax airbags, as well as a driver’s knee airbag.

Rigid body construction The i30 chassis features a rigid construction that has been reinforced with high-tensile strength Australian materials. Additional protection is provided by reinforcement of the rear roof structure, centre pillar, side sills, outer rails and front doors.

Electronic Stability Control (ESC) If the vehicle detects a loss of control, ESC activates brakes on individual wheels to help correct and minimise skidding helping you to stay on your intended course.
