How to set up your environment

3. RUN the Azure Active Directory Sync tool • To run the Directory Sync

tool, you must have administrator permissions for the following:

• • The computer running the Directory Sync tool.

• • Your company’s local Active Directory.

• • Your company’s Microsoft cloud service administrator account. (see Azure AD credentials)

Download the DirSync bits using BITS (the URL always points to the latest version): Start-BitsTransfer -Source http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkID=278924 -Destination c:Tempdirsync.exe

Install the required .NET 3.5 bits: Add-WindowsFeature -Name NET-Framework-Core

Install DirSync unattended: .DirSync.exe /quiet

If you don’t want to go run trough every version of SharePoint to get to the last version, it’s plenty migration tools that support migration from all the way back to 2003/2007.
