I was once a sinner, but I camePardon to receive from my Lord:

This was freely given, and I foundThat He always kept His word.

A New Name in Glory

There’s a new name written down in glory,

And it’s mine, O yes, it’s mine! And the white robed angels

sing the story,“A sinner has come home.”

For there’s a new name written down in glory,

And it’s mine, O yes, it’s mine! With my sins forgiven I am bound for Heaven,

Never more to roam.

I was humbly kneeling at the cross,

Fearing naught by God’s angry frown;

When the heavens opened and I saw

That my name was written down.

In the Book ’tis written, “Saved by Grace,”

O the joy that came to my soul! Now I am forgiven, and I knowBy the blood I am made whole.

The Power of The Cross

Oh, to see the dawn of the darkest day: Christ on the road to

Calvary. Tried by sinful men, torn and beaten, then

nailed to a cross of wood.

CHORUS:

This the pow'r of the cross:Christ became sin for us;Took the blame, bore the

wrath -we stand forgiven at the

cross.

Oh, to see the painwritten on Your face,

bearing the awesome weight of sin.

Every bitter thought, every evil deed,

crowning Your bloodstained brow.

CHORUS:

This the pow'r of the cross:Christ became sin for us;

Took the blame, bore the wrath -we stand forgiven at the cross.

Now the daylight flees; Now the ground beneath

quakes as its Maker bows His head.

Curtain torn in two, dead are raised to life;

"Finished!" the vict'ry cry.

CHORUS:This the pow'r of the cross:

Christ became sin for us;

Took the blame, bore the wrath -we stand forgiven at the cross.

Oh, to see my namewritten in the wounds,

For through Your suffering I am free.

Death is crushed to death;Life is mine to live,

won through Your selfless love.

CHORUS:This the pow'r of the cross:

Son of God—slain for us.What a love! What a cost!

We stand forgiven at the cross!

Before the throne of God aboveI have a strong and perfect plea

A great high priest whose name is love

Who ever lives and pleads for me

Before the Throne of God Above

My name is graven on His handsMy name is written on His heartI know that while in heaven He

standsNo tongue can bid me thence departNo tongue can bid me thence depart

When satan tempts me to despair And tells me of the guilt within

Upward I look and see Him there Who made an end to all my sin

Because the sinless Savior diedMy sinful soul is counted freeFor God the just is satisfied

To look on Him and pardon meTo look on Him and pardon me

Behold Him there the risen Lamb My perfect spotless righteousness

The great unchangeable I AMThe King of glory and of grace

One with Himself I cannot dieMy soul is purchased by His bloodMy life is hid with Christ on high

With Christ my Savior and my GodWith Christ my Savior and my God

Have you ever been misunderstood or misrepresented?

1 John 3:13 Do not marvel, my brethren, if the world hates you.

Mark 3:20-30 JESUS UNDER ATTACK

He claimed to be God – Mark 2:5 He refused to rest and take care of

Himself – 3:20 He wandered around the country

preaching and simply trusted God to supply His needs.

The “Who’s Who” of Israel believed that He is crazy too – 3:22.

ATTACKING HIS SANITY

If the world hates you, you know that it hated Me before it hated you.

If you were of the world, the world would love its own. Yet because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, therefore the world hates you.

Jn 15.18-19

“He hath Beelzebub, and by the prince of devils casteth He out devils.”

They attribute the miracles of the Lord Jesus to the power of the devil.

They accuse Jesus of working under the influence of “Beelzebub”.

The name literally means “The Lord of Flies or The Lord of Filth.”

ATTACKING HIS SPIRITUALITY

A kingdom in division is a kingdom that cannot stand.

A house that exists in division cannot stand.

Jesus has the power to invade Satan’s kingdom and deliver whoever he desires from the devil’s grip.

v. 23-27   Jesus addresses His attackers

These religious men do not see the terrible spiritual danger they are in.

They have looked at God’s Messiah and called Him the servant of the devil.

Jesus issues a very serious warning to these men.

They are in danger of committing an unpardonable sin.

Jesus’ Warning

When the scribes attributed the work of the Spirit to the devil, they were guilty of blaspheming the Spirit.

Jesus said they were in danger of committing a sin that could not be forgiven!

Is it possible to commit this same unpardonable sin today?

NO!! However, there is a sense in which a

person can commit a similar sin that is unpardonable.

The only unforgivable sin today is saying “no” to the call of the Holy Spirit for the last time.
