Negotiated rates for bed and breakfast Superior room used as single 125DT Participants should book their rooms directly by sending a fax to the following numbers: +216 71 799 100 preferably before 25 August 2008. The fax should state the exact dates of arrival and departure. In order to benefit from the special tariff negotiated with the hotel, participants should indicate that they will be coming for meeting s hosted by the African Development Bank . For lunch and dinner, the hotel is proposing a buffet for 38 DT each per participant/meal/day. III. VISAS

Participants are responsible for arranging any required transit/entry visas for travel to Tunis. For delegates that do not have a Tunisian Embassy or Consulate in their country of residence, the AfDB could assist to arrange for visas to be issued upon arrival at the airport in Tunis. Delegates who live in such countries are therefore advised to quickly send us a photocopy of their passports with the following information:

1. Full names 4. Date of issue and expiry 2. Passport numbers 5. Details of travel itinerary 3. Country of origin 6. Place and date of birth

IV. AIRPORT TRANSFERS Tunis is served by an international airport which is less than ten kilometers from Hotel Sheraton, the meeting place. Taxis from the airport to the Hotel Sheraton cost less than 10 DT. There is also a Sheraton hotel shuttle which costs about 25 TND.

V. CURRENCY

The local currency of Tunisia is the Tunisian Dinar (TND). One Euro is currently equivalent to about 1.80 TND and one US Dollar is equivalent to about 1.17 TND. Please be informed that there may be some slight fluctuations in the daily rates.

VI. CLIMATE AND CULTURE Tunisia has a Mediterranean climate. September is a summer month and the temperatures can range from 25 to about 40°C. Tunisia has a large Muslim community accounting for about 98 percent of the total population. Participants should note that the Muslim fasting period of Ramadan will take place in September this year. During this period, public and private insti tutions such as post offices and Banks close early in the afternoon (around 1:00 PM).

VII. LANGUAGE: There are two official languages: Arabic and French.

VIII. MISCELLANEOUS Insurance: Each participant will be responsible for their own health insurance coverage while in Tunis and must have adequate insurance to cover any medical services required.
