GIFTS AND BEQUESTS/,
I
THE AMERICAN ARTISTS FuNI)`
THE AMERICAN ARTISTS FUND of The American Artists Profession-al League, Inc., has recently been granted tax exempt status by the UnitedStates Treasury Department. As a result, gifts to THE AMERICAN ARTISTSFUND are deductible by the donors for in!ome tax purposes as charitable.and educational contributions and, similarly} bequests are deductible forEstate Tax purposes.
Such gifts and bequests, unless otherwise restricted, will be used forthe primary purposes for which theAMERICAN ARTISTS FUND was ere-;ted: to promote understanding and appreciation of classical American Artthroulgh media such as the annual observance of American Art Week; tocreate and maintain scholarships for study in American Art; to establishcompetitions and ex.hibitions inAmerican Art and [o give prizes and awardstherefor. In the event that anydonor or cestatorshould specifically so direct, the gift.or bequest can be restricted to use for the-general purposes of thefund within a specified geographical area-for example, within` a particularstate. However, it should be pointed out that the Fundts purposes arenational in scope-e.g., the nationwide observance of American Arc Week-ahd I-hat the record-keeping for small, specially-restricted gifts and bei
quests is onerous. on the other hand, unrestricted donations |o the Fu;aare allocated by its Direccors` for use in localities where they are mostneeded to accomplish the Fund,s natiohal purposes.
Gifts and Bequests are always welcome from those who enjoy ourexhibitions or are sympathetic [o our efforts. Neiv funds are needed tosustain our Annual Exhibition which has materially increased in cost.To eam'full tax deduction.credits, please use the form.below and makecheck payable co "THE AMERICAN ARTISTS FUND".
I wish to encourage the continuance. of THE AMERICAN ARTISTS PROFESSIONAL LEA-CUE efforts and hereby enclose my check for STHE AMERICAN ARTISTS FUND..
