We do not propose an totally, regret free life. What scripture does support and what God shows us is how regret may be used when encountered. In scripture, regret is a word more often seen than it is spoken. Perhaps the first time it is spoken is when God saw his children of Genesis 6:1-2, how that they as men, not fallen angels or as some special creation, but as the sons of God, the descendants of Seth, looked upon the women of the land, women outside the devoted relationship to God, and as such they led away the hearts of the sons of God. The influence was powerful and the influence impacted the generations to go away from God. The result, “And the Lord was sorry that He had made man on the earth, and He was grieved in His heart. So the Lord said, “I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth, both man and beast, creeping thing and birds of the air, for I am sorry that I have made them” (Genesis 6:6-7). Exodus 32:10 tells of God’s anger and wrath burning hot against Israel, so much so that He was ready to blot them out of His book of life, and make from Moses a great nation. Another occasion God called out His regret directly and greatly, “I greatly regret that I have set up Saul as king, for he has turned back from following Me, and has not performed My commandments.” And it grieved Samuel, and he cried out to the Lord all night” (I Samuel 15:11). Regret, if felt in the existence of an All-Mighty and Sovereign God, is real, then our hope of totally avoiding regret is in vain. But what we do with it matters. When God regretted making man, He focused on the faithful and not the fallen (i.e., Noah, Genesis 6:8). When God regretted choosing Israel He focused on forgiveness and not fierceness of His wrath (Exodus 32:14). When God regretted Saul as king, God placed His attention on the future and not the forgotten commands (I Samuel 16:13) Being able to look back on life without having to stare through the lens of regret across every memory is possible. When your friends, family, or even your brethren, disappoint your heart, do you focus on their fallen ways or the faithful among you who continue to lift you up and give your heart reason to be glad? During the moments when sin has encroached on your relationship with a loved one, it is doubtful you will regret finding forgiveness first and not giving place to wrath in your heart. In the moments when it’s your steps and your actions which walk away from God, I hope you know, the moment your regret cuts deep to your heart, the road to forgiveness/salvation has been found beneath your feet (II Corinthians 7:10).

“I Hope You Know”

One day, (no one person can tell you when, just that with certainty it can happen) some of your “I wish” hopes and dreams may turn into, “I wish I had....” It doesn’t have to be that way, but sadly for too many souls it ends up that way. It’s one thing to have a dream, a goal, a hope, an aspiration for faith, family, or future; it’s an entirely different thing to actually achieve it. “Living

Your Tomorrow - No Regrets” shapes our focus for the month of April. We do not propose an totally, regret free life. What scripture does support and what God shows us is how regret may be used when encountered. In scripture, regret is a word more often seen than it is spoken. WHAT A FANTASTIC END to the Junior High Firesides for this school year. We enjoyed some pizza, cake, ice cream and a lot of fun playing basketball and jumping on the trampoline. Following some beautiful singing and prayers and a message from Col 3, we enjoyed a huge game of hide and seek. Thank you to Ryan & Lauren McDonald and Jeremy & Meredith Qualls for hosting the night. There will be one more Fireside involving the Junior High, that is the Junior & Senior High Scavenger Hunt Fireside Finale on May 13. Don’t miss it!

SUNDAY THE SENIOR PACKETS were handed out. If you are in the Centerville Church of Christ Class of 2018 and did not receive one, please see me as soon as possible. In the packet is more information about the plans for Senior Sunday and the table you will need to decorate. Also, I need some information from you for the Senior Sunday program. That is due back by April 22 and a picture as well. Plan now for Senior Sunday, May 6th. A special day to honor a special group! SUNDAY NIGHT WAS also the final Junior High Fireside where Misty and I are in charge of this group. With that thought I wanted to look back over my years as a Youth Minister to share some thoughts I feel are most important to this age. I choose to look at Col 3:1-17 and came up with these three points. To Seek, to Select and to Secure. To Seek Christ in all you do, Col 3:1. No matter what that might be, to make sure your mind is set on that of Christ’s and do what he would desire of you. To

Select the type of friends that will make you a better Christian and help you achieve your goal of Seeking Him, Col 3:12-13. Also in doing so, that you will be the type of friend to make those around you a better Christian and help them in their commitment to Christ. Finally, to be Secure in who you are. Blot out the worldly thinking and encouragement from so many that you are not enough. Blot out that you are below whatever standard others have set for you. Rather, know you are a child of the One and True Living God, Col 3:15-17. Seek, Select and Secure every day is the best advice I can offer in my experience. It will make a difference in this life and in the one to come. follow His path, -Craig

...Approximately 11 years ago, an infant girl touched the lives of Rick & Joyce Bruno. They grew to love her very much. Due to circumstances beyond their control, the child was

placed elsewhere and their close interaction with her also ceased. Over the past 11 years they have not forgotten her, always having the desire to be a part of her life. Her name is Bonnie. Recently, Rick and Joyce were given a blessing and opportunity to once again be an influence in this child’s life. Joyce asked for your prayers as she and Rick reach out to Bonnie, rekindling the love that began 11 years ago.
