The homeowner told police that he struggled with the intruder, who broke in around 7 p.m. with a .22 caliber revolver, Sharp said. “During the struggle, the handgun was fired twice; once inside the residence, and again when the struggle spilled out into the yard,” Sharp said. Demarcus Ross, 24, of Zachary, received a su- perficial gunshot wound in his left forearm, and the homeowner was hit in the head with the gun, Sharp said. “Fortunately, neither of the injuries was seri- ous,” Sharp said. When police ar- rived, they found Ross detained by the hom- eowner and a neighbor, Sharp said. Ross was booked into the Livingston Parish Detention Center for aggravated burglary of an inhabited dwelling and aggravated battery, Sharp said. Ross told police that someone acquainted with the homeowner had suggested the rob- bery, Sharp said. “We are pursuing that possibility and addition- al arrests are possible,” Sharp said. Ross remained in the Detention Center Wednesday with bond set at $70,000, Sharp said. Christopher Aucoin, 24, Aztec Dr., Denham Springs, was charged with simple burglary and possession of mari- juana. Kimberly Badinger, 42, 155 Aspen Square Dr. Apt., Denham Springs, was charged with pos- session of Schedule II drugs with intent to distribute. James Blount, 54, 13365 Vincent Place Ave., Denham Springs, was charged with acces- sory to molestation of a juvenile, accessory to indecent behavior with juveniles and accessory to contributing to the delinquency of juve- niles. Dustin Braud, 40, 12187 Griffith Road, Gonza- les, was charged with operation and creation of a methamphet- amine lab, possession of Schedule II drugs, excessive noise, driv- ing under suspension and possession of drug paraphernalia.
