Build BackgroundHelp children use their knowledge of the fall season. Build interest by asking questions such as the following: ¿Cómo se dan cuenta de que termina el verano y comienza el otoño? ¿Qué clase de ropa usan en otoño? Read the title and author’s name and talk about the cover photograph.

Introduce the TextGuide children through the text, noting important ideas and helping with unfamiliar language and vocabulary. Here are some suggestions:

Page 3: Explain that this is a book about changes in the fall season. Suggested language: Vayan a la página 3. El tiempo cambia en otoño. A veces llueve. ¿Les gusta la lluvia en otoño?
