ELANTRA GT AWARDS AND ACCOLADES:

Kiplinger’s Personal Finance Magazine named the Elantra GT Best New Car Under $20,000, besting stalwart

competitors such as the Dodge Dart and Nissan Sentra.

The 2013 Elantra GT took top honors in the annual car of the year awards bestowed by the Inter-American Federation of Automotive Journalists (FIPA) when it was named the “2013 Car of the Americas” during the

press preview days at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit.

"In the Elantra GT, Hyundai combined function with style and adorned it with better driving dynamics than the

coupe. For those reasons, we prefer the GT. If it doesn't look young enough, we'll wear a Tapout hat or take up

kayaking." – Edmunds.com

"Step inside the 2013 Hyundai Elantra GT and you're immediately transported into a different class of five-door

hatch. The interior is bright, light and open, which is a stark contrast from nearly every other car in the segment.

Like the normal Elantra, the GT's interior is well constructed with solid, responsive controls. Unlike the sedan,

however, the GT's center console isn't overwrought with futuristic design." – Edmunds.com

"The Elantra GT is just as nimble as the Coupe. In fact, on the twisty roads that surround Mount Palomar

northeast of San Diego, we enjoyed the balanced feel of the GT more than the Coupe." – Popular Mechanics

"The front seats are well-bolstered. Rear legroom is adequate in the sedan and Coupe, and generous in the

GT." – Kelley Blue Book

"Seats are comfy and the outward vision works despite a wide rear pillar." – Road and Track

"… the materials used throughout the cabin are high quality and overall fit-and-finish is good, and the main

connection points between driver and car - the steering wheel, shift knob, etc. - are wrapped in leather and feel

good to the touch. When it comes to the compact class, Hyundai is indeed leading the pack with its interiors." –

ELANTRA COUPE ACCOLADES: “Because coupes are meant to be more fun to drive than their sedan equivalents, Hyundai has made some mild

updates to some of the suspension and chassis components, including the steering knuckle design, rear torsion beam rigidity, and damper settings. Suspension settings are further tweaked on SE models, which come with 17-inch wheels and lower-profile 215/45 tires instead of the 16-inch wheels and 205/55 tires offered on the base GS… It's from the rear (or at least the rear three-quarter) where the Elantra Coupe looks the best and sportiest – thanks in no small part to the visible exhaust tips.” – Motor Trend

“So... the Elantra Coupe has more room, more horsepower and better fuel economy than the Honda Civic Coupe. As far as styling goes, that's obviously subjective... but we'll cast our lot in the direction of the Hyundai for its sweeping good looks over the more subdued sheetmetal of its biggest competitor.” – AutoBlog.com

“The 2012 Elantra sedan was already named North American Car of the Year. The addition of a coupe to the model

line just confirms that Hyundai's making the right choices with the redesigned Elantra lineup.” – Edmunds.com

“A sportier, two-door running mate to the Elantra Sedan, the 2013 Hyundai Elantra Coupe made its world debut in Chicago. Created at Hyundai's North American Design Center in Irvine, California, the new Coupe is spun from the current Elantra Sedan platform and shares virtually all key critical dimensions, inside and out with its four-door sibling. Despite an obvious orientation towards more youthful buyers, the Elantra Coupe maintains the automaker's signature emphasis on creating a high value package that delivers outstanding fuel economy.” – Kelley Blue Book

“What I like best about this car is that Hyundai didn't try to re-invent it. From the front seats forward, the Elantra Coupe

is pretty much identical to the sedan. The Elantra's steeply-sloped windshield and hood and sharp body-line creases lend themselves quite nicely to the Coupe's graceful back end, and a few unique details like the all-black grille and trunk-lid spoiler give the Elantra Coupe the racy look that it needs. It's handsome but acceptably understated… Once you get to the back, you get to my favorite features of the Elantra coupe: Back-seat access and space. Getting into the back seat of a two-door car is never easy, but the Elantra Coupe offers better access than most -- the doors open wide and the right-front seat slides way forward, so I was able to just step in, turn, and drop, making something remarkably close to a graceful entrance. Once there, I found an admirable amount of leg, shoulder, and even headroom (though at 5' 6" I require less than most people). The Elantra Coupe also has a 14.8 cubic foot trunk, significantly larger than that of most compact and mid-size two-doors.” – About.com

SONATA AWARDS AND ACCOLADES:

For calendar year 2012, Sonata broke its all-time yearly sales record, surpassing 225,000 units.

The 2013 Sonata received the distinct honor of being named the most dependable midsize car by J.D. Power and Associates in their 2013 Vehicle Dependability Study (VDS); Sonata ranked highest in its class, beating out leading competitors.

The 2013 Sonata was named a “BEST BET” in the 33rd edition of The Car Book, America’s first consumer car buying guide. This marks the third consecutive year Sonata has earned this distinction.

The 2013 Sonata received Kelley Blue Book’s KBB.com’s coveted “5-Year Cost to Own Award.” Sonata was found to have the lowest cost of ownership over the initial 5-year ownership period, compared to competitors such as the Honda Accord and Toyota Camry to take the top spot in the Mid-Size Car segment.

Sonata took first place in the medium cars category in the 16th annual Strategic Vision Total Value Awards.

The 2013 Sonata earned a spot among Consumers Digest’s 2013 Automotive Best Buys. With value in mind, Consumers Digest ‘Best Buy’ ratings are based on behind-the-wheel assessment, safety ratings, ownership costs, warranty, price, comfort, ergonomics, styling and amenities.

In its first annual “Top Scoring Car Awards,” Total Car Score, the most comprehensive automotive ranking and comparison website, recognized the 2012 Sonata as the top scoring car in the midsize sedan/wagon segment. Additionally, Sonata was the second highest scoring vehicle overall among the 35 awarded vehicles, second only to the Lexus LS, an ultra-luxury car.

Consumer Guide editors gave the Sonata a “Best Buy” award in the midsize car category.

When NHTSA (National Highway Traffic Safety Administration) initiated their new crash test procedures, the Sonata was the first to earn 5 Stars for Side Crash and Rollover, 4 Stars for Frontal Crash along with the BMW 5 Series.

Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) named Sonata a “Top Safety Pick” – this award is only given to vehicles that do a superior job protecting people in front, side, rear and rollover crashes.

R.L. Polk, an automotive data and marketing solutions leader, bestowed the title “King of the Automotive Conquests” on the Sonata in a blog post. In the first quarter of the 2011, Sonata conquested more owners than any other car in the U.S. marketplace, 18,587 to be exact.

SONATA 2.0T AWARDS AND ACCOLADES:

“The new turbo-4's 274-horsepower rating is indeed better than all family sedan V6s, and its 269 pound-feet of torque is substantially better… For all intents and purposes, the 2.0T engine delivers power in the smooth, linear fashion buyers have come to expect from a V6, but with an added dollop of torque. There's also none of the whining or whooshing usually associated with turbocharged engines. In fact, there's not much noise at all, which should be a good thing for those who like their cars to be whisper quiet. Perfectionists as they apparently are, Hyundai's engineers actually seemed to think it should be even quieter.” – Edmunds.com

“It's hard not to be genuinely surprised by the Hyundai Sonata 2.0T. With more power and better fuel economy

than the V6 variants of the Camry, Accord and Altima, all at around $3,000 less than the majority of its major competitors, we just can't find a coherent all-around argument against the turbo'd Korean. Regardless of how many of the cars hop off of the lot when they go on sale this week, it looks like the days of the V6 mid-sized sedan are numbered.” – AutoBlog.com

“The 2012 Hyundai Sonata's turbocharger adds a substantial amount of power. The optional navigation system is

simple, yet effective. Bluetooth calling and most digital audio sources are standard. The voice command system is quite good and the addition of BlueLink® telematics rounds out the dashboard tech… With more power and more tech, the 2012 Hyundai Sonata SE 2.0T offers a lot of bang for your buck.” – CNet.com

“Slip behind the Sonata 2.0T Limited’s wheel, and you will find an appealing two-tone cabin treatment, materials that

look and feel like quality, and an eight-way power driver’s seat with a ridiculous amount of travel fore, aft, and in terms of height adjustment. And by ‘ridiculous’ I mean that if you can’t find a comfortable position behind the tilt/telescopic steering wheel, no matter how short or tall you are, you’re not trying hard enough… If I needed to pick a single word to describe what it’s like to drive a 2013 Hyundai Sonata 2.0T that word would be ‘whoosh.’ And the Sonata whooshes whether it is warm or cold outside, whether you’re cruising the Pacific coast or powering over the Rocky Mountains. Speed is effortless with this thrilling engine.” – Autobytel.com

“Auto critics agree that despite only offering turbo-four and four-cylinder engines, the 2013 Sonata has plenty of

power. Sporty yet comfortable handling makes the Sonata a well-rounded midsize car.” – U.S. News & World Report

“The 2.0T engine demonstrates V6-like acceleration, but boasts 4-cylinder fuel consumption." – Consumer Guide

SONATA HYBRID AWARDS AND ACCOLADES:

The Sonata Hybrid topped the Hybrid Car/EV category in the 2012 AutoPacific Vehicle Satisfaction Awards (VSA). Additionally, Hyundai finished fifth overall in the Popular Brand rankings.

For the seventh consecutive year the Sonata was recognized by the American Council for an Energy Efficient Economy

(ACEEE) on its annual “Greener Choices” list of environmentally-friendly cars and trucks.

"True to Hyundai’s claim, the Sonata Hybrid’s powertrain is quite to an enthusiast’s liking. Unlike ‘conventional’ hybrids, there’s no CVT but rather an automatically stirred 6-speed. What’s more, through clever finessing of engine, electric motor and transmission, there’s no need for an intermediate torque converter. The result is a more sporty response to your right foot, with nary a CVT sensation of engine rpm/road speed disconnect." – Road and Track

“The Sonata Hybrid will deliver a devastating blow to its opponents… It’s roomier, more comfortable and much more

handsome, with a hybrid system that cleverly balances fuel economy and cost” – WIRED magazine

AZERA AWARDS AND ACCOLADES:

The 2012 Azera earned a GOOD DESIGN™ Award in the Transportation category for its innovative and unique three-door design; presented annually by The Chicago Athenaeum: Museum of Architecture and Design together with The European Centre for Architecture Art Design and Urban Studies.

The 2012 Azera was named to this year’s “Ward’s 10 Best Interiors” list by the editors of WardsAuto.com.

The Azera was named a 2012 “Best Bet” in the Full Size Sedan category by Cars.com, a leading destination for online car shoppers. Azera joins five other Hyundai models previously selected to Cars.com’s 2012 list: Elantra (Compact Sedan), Sonata (Midsize Sedan), Genesis (Luxury Car), Genesis Coupe (Sports Car), and Tucson(Compact SUV/Crossover).

“Inside and out, the all-new 2012 Hyundai Azera is arguably the best-looking car in the large sedan class. It's also among the most powerful and most fuel-efficient, offers the best features (many of them standard), and still qualifies as a terrific value.” – Kelley Blue Book

“If you're getting the impression that we like the Azera, you haven't been led astray. The car feels good to drive, looks stylish enough to hold its head high among some of the segment's more anonymous contenders and delivers an attractive interior loaded with content.” – Autoblog.com

“Heading out onto wide, flat Nevada Highway 160 east out of Pahrump back toward Las Vegas, I immediately realized that the new Azera is way better to drive than the old car, too.” – Automobile Magazine

“While its performance is commendable, what's impressive is its behavior on the highway. The engine revs smoothly to redline, and the cabin stays remarkably quiet, even at speeds above 80 mph.” – Road & Track

“The revamped Azera has much to celebrate, and looks perfectly at home in Hyundai's lineup… the Azera's striking new sheetmetal and interior should be enough to lure customers into the showroom.” – Car and Driver

EQUUS AWARDS AND ACCOLADES:

In the 16th annual Strategic Vision Total Value Awards, Equus beat out competitors like BMW and Mercedes to take first place in the luxury car segment. Additionally, Equus received the award for Best Model, and Hyundai ranked second overall in Total Value.

IntelliChoice and AutoPacific awarded the Equus with the 2012 Motorist Choice Award in the Luxury Lifestyle and

High Tech category.

J.D. Power and Associates designated the 2011 Equus as its most appealing large premium car in their 2011 Automotive Performance, Execution and Layout (APPEAL) StudySM annual owner survey.

Equus achieved the 2012 Top Safety Pick honor from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS). Top Safety Pick recognizes

vehicles that do the best job of protecting people in front, side, rollover, and rear crashes based on “good” ratings in Institute tests.

The 429-hp 5.0l V8 Tau engine that powers the Equus was named a Wards’ 10 Best Engine for 2011.

“The Equus is solidly engineered, remarkably quiet and indulgently comfortable, and that's on top of its exceptional feature content and relatively affordable price… If you're wondering whether a value-oriented brand like Hyundai can produce a a luxury car, the cabin of the Equus will put your mind at ease. Just about every luxury and convenience feature found on a premium-badge car is available, and the quality of the design and materials is first class… In a segment where vehicles can be hopelessly complex, the Equus does a good job of keeping its vast amount of technology manageable.” – Edmunds

“Hyundai techs whisk your Equus away to the dealership and leave in its place either a similarly spec'd sedan or a

Genesis loaner. No need to rub elbows with the proletariat or drink the caffeinated swill at one of the Equus-approved dealerships. Hyundai knows you're special. And you only drink Starbucks anyway." – Autoblog.com

“The Hyundai Equus is inarguably a fine luxury sedan offered at an attractive price. Buy it for that reason and be happy. But don't waste time or energy trying to one-up your BMW neighbors.” – Washington Post

The 2012 Tucson was named one of the 2012 “10 Most Fuel-Efficient SUV/Crossovers” by Kelley Blue Book’s kbb.com

The 2012 Tucson was added to The Car Book’s 2012 “BEST BETS” list by author Jack Gillis and the Center for Auto Safety, the nation’s leading auto safety advocacy group

Tucson earned the distinction of “Best Value in America” for 2012 from Vincentric, an automotive data compilation and analysis firm, in the Crossover Compact Entry-Level category for the second year in a row

Kiplinger’s Personal Finance magazine recognized Tucson as Best New Small Crossover for 2010

2010 Tucson Limited was named Thule Road Trip Vehicle of the Year under $30,000

“… the Tucson compact crossover continues to impress us. Notably, this isn't simply because of traditional Hyundai strengths like value, affordability and overall quality. These qualities still define the Tucson, yet the crossover SUV's sleek styling, abundant features and fun-to-drive nature are what set it apart from its competition. Unlike many of the humdrum interiors found in other crossover SUVs, the (2012) Hyundai Tucson offers a contoured twin-cowl dash that's available in two-tone color schemes. It's quite a bit more appealing than the plain, truck-style treatments seen in the competition, and more functional to boot.” – Edmunds.com

The 2010 and 2011 Tucson earned Top Safety Pick by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS)

Tucson received Insure.com’s “Low Cost Car Insurance Award,” extending Hyundai’s value story beyond purchase

price, and into the overall cost of ownership. Insure.com surveyed average rates for more than 2,400 vehicles for the 2010 model year, awarding the 10 least expensive vehicles to insure in each of four categories: Cars, SUVs, Trucks, and Vans

The 2010 Tucson earned top honors in the “Compact Crossover SUV Class” by AutoPacific® in their Vehicle

SANTA FE AWARDS AND ACCOLADES:

The 2013 Santa Fe was named Best 3-Row Midsize SUV by U.S. News and World Report in its 2013 Best Cars for the Money Awards

The 2013 Hyundai Sonata has been named a “BEST BET” in the 33rd edition of The Car Book, America’s first consumer car buying guide – this marks the third consecutive year Hyundai Sonata has earned this distinction

“To our eyes, this new 2013 Santa Fe looks good, and it's more distinctive than most compact CUV competitors. Its styling follows the Hyundai fluidic sculpture design direction, but toned down from the bold look that has helped lift the Sonata to a major player in the also super-competitive mid-size sedan segment. The LWB Santa Fe serves up 1.9 inches more second-row legroom and 5.6 cubic feet more total cargo capacity than the Sport. It comes with second-row climate controls and vents and a 50/50 split folding third seat with 31.5 inches of legroom. The second row is the 40/20/40 split folding bench in the GLS trim, twin Captain's chairs in the Limited” – AutoMedia.com

“If the redesigned 2013 Hyundai Santa Fe crossover SUV could express emotion, it would start by breathing a huge sigh of relief. That's because Hyundai has finally blessed the Santa Fe with the company's distinctive ‘fluidic sculpture’ design language… Blue Link is standard in one form or another on every Santa Fe, and it deserves a paragraph of its own. Using the built-in voice-recognition software, you can search for local points of interest, send text messages or have them read to you, follow turn-by-turn directions to your destination and get help in an emergency. Blue Link also allows you to check the weather, receive traffic alerts and keep track of your driving habits to improve fuel economy. Hyundai's even got operators standing by to provide assistance. It's pretty neat.” – AutoTrader.com

“We loved the fact that virtually all buttons and controls are easy to see, read and reach, with good-size white letters and graphics. The three-spoke steering wheel has large, well-marked audio and cruise controls on its horizontal spokes, and phone, voice-command and trip-computer buttons along both lower edges of its V-shaped center hub. On the dash to the left of the wheel are controls for instrument lighting, Hillstart Assist, Active ECO mode, heated steering wheel and the AWD center differential lock. In the vertical stack to the right are the thoughtfully designed and conveniently arranged audio, navigation and climate controls.” – New Car Test Drive

GENESIS COUPE – AWARDS AND ACCOLADES:

The 2013 Genesis Coupe earned a spot among Consumers Digest’s 2013 Automotive Best Buys. With value in mind, Consumers Digest ‘Best Buy’ ratings are based on behind-the-wheel assessment, safety ratings, ownership costs, warranty, price, comfort, ergonomics, styling and amenities.

The Genesis Coupe earned “Best Value in America” honors for 2012 from Vincentric in the Mid-Size Coupe category. Vincentric measures cost-of-ownership using eight different cost factors and identifies winners based on vehicles that had lower than expected ownership costs given their market segment and price.

“For 2013, the Genesis Coupe has indeed been polished and primped both inside and outside, but it also gets a powertrain pump-up that takes this mid-cycle face-lift beyond the analogous level of a quick Botox treatment.” – Automobile Magazine

“With more power under the hood and added features, the 2013 Hyundai Genesis Coupe furthers its already favorable standing.” – Edmunds

“Hyundai is ready to rock again with a much-improved version, with more power, better looks and first-rate refinement.” – Road and Track

“The upgraded interior, serious bump in power and suspension tweaks all make the Genesis Coupe more attractive than ever… this two-door remains a performance bargain.” – Autoblog

“Under hard throttle, the exhaust emits a mild midrange honk that climbs in pitch with acceleration. Outside of the car the tone is even more raucous, and should be music to the ears of any remaining members of the Fast and Furious club.” – Car and Driver

“The Hyundai Genesis Coupe launched in 2009 to much enthusiast fanfare, and it quickly gained a following among turners and premium customers with sporty inclinations. fast-forward three years, and Hyundai appears to be gaining confidence and truly coming into its own in the athletic two-door segment, cranking up the power, adding a number of appearance-enhancing styling cues and improving the interior” – AutoWeek
