Overall Approach ● Existing FIT flow for Sales, LE and Variances to remain As-Is.

● New flow to be built for Variance calculation for MRH.

● Hyperion data to be staged separately via SAP-PI for Global Crops, Seeds and lawn & garden

● New BPS layout for Sales Variance/COGS Variance to be built for MRH.

● Users would need to make variance adjustment entries in two layouts- FIT and MRH- till the decommissioning of FIT is undertaken

● Decommissioning of existing FIT flow to be analyzed and finalized.

Context: Finance Strategic Agenda (FLT, 2006)

• Reporting and Management Information requires us to ensure efficient and effective delivery of core information to facilitate informed decision making.

• A clear and consistent view of the figures (“everywhere, anytime, automatic”).

• A common language facilitating the finance performance dialogue, promoting understanding, leading to faster decision making and actions.

• A core reporting framework, incorporating standard reports which can be automated to liberate our time to focus on questions and analysis.

= Scope of the Project (Phase I)

Objectives:

To harmonise and rationalize financial management reporting across Syngenta by:- implementing a standardized core management KPI-/Reporting-Framework, - the maximum utilization of Business Intelligence automation and- the set-up of a corresponding Governance and Organisational structure (“Centre of Reporting Expertise”)

Scope:

• Management Finance Reporting based on global Systems (e.g. Hyperion, FIT) in modular approach (“consolidated cost/Destination principle”)

• Global BI technology (in particular Front End access layer) to cover all Reporting requirements

• Global Management Reporting Organisation and Governance (incl. related processes)

• Out of Scope at this stage:Reports which are currently not consolidated on global level and thus requires specific Regional/Local dependent data access.

Deep dive „Matching issues DVII vs. MRH“

Local ERP

Account mapping(e.g. Upstream) Account mapping

EDWH

SGRS

SGRSCONS

SYNCROP

=

Issues causing mismatching numbers:

1. Mapping (different logics applied); e.g. „Dempsey lines“

2. Adjustments (post submission)

3. Destination principle (different granularity applied)

4. Variance analysis (on different aggregation levels)

5. Exchange rate methodology (tbc)

„MRH“ „DVII“

Concerning Destination principle in DVII:

• CH030 Dielsdorf big issue

• Destination Sales/Cost only picked up within EAME G-SAP entities (not APAC, L-SAP, N-SAP nor SCALA entities) ; hence will never have a truly globally rolled up destination (as in Hyperion); DVII = “approximated destination“ within EAME

MRH Scope● Reporting Process:

The following reporting processes are covered as part of MRH reporting solution:

● KPI’s The following reporting KPI’s are provided as part of MRH data model and reporting solution:- EBITDA- Invested Capital- Business Value Added - ROIC - Business Cash Flow- FTE- Gross Profit and Sales Variance analysis by Product for CP

Page 15: Hyperion Overview - Nov 19 2013

15

MRH Scope● Business Divisions and Function Areas:

The following Business Divisions are covered as part of MRH reporting solution:

Business Divisions:- Crop Protection- Seeds- Lawn & Garden- Business Development

Function Areas- R&D- SBS- CP Global Supply

● SEEDS INTERCOMPANY ELIMINATIONSThere are multiple organization structures in Seeds2005 but the reporting in MRH will be restricted to the three key hierarchies used for Management Reporting.

- AllCrops- AllCrops by Region- All Units

Page 16: Hyperion Overview - Nov 19 2013

16

MRH: Other Requirements● Availability of Data

Data should be available in both the EDWH cubes and the Business Objects Reports within 2 hours of the completion of a consolidation in Hyperion system and/or within 2 hours of the initiation of the load of Synpro data to EDWH . This process may take longer for Budget / LE and LP loads as it is recognised that the volumes of data are significantly larger.

● Availability of Historic Data The Data Model should contain data for a minimum of :

- Current Year +1- Current Year- Current Year - 1- Current Year – 2

In addition historic data should be kept for 8years in the MRH cubes.

● Local Currency Reporting RequirementsAs a general principle all values in the data model will be held USD. Nevertheless the architecture will be designed for

enabling currency conversion to all local currencies in stage 2 of the project (currently on-going).

Page 17: Hyperion Overview - Nov 19 2013

MRH: General Principles● Sign convention for accounts

Data in Hyperion SGRSCONS and Hyperion SGRSFCSTCONS is not held with this sign convention and a transformation is applied to the data as it is loaded to EDWH.

Access to the different KPIs will not be secured in the data model but will be secured by limiting access to Schedule packs in Business Objects. This assumes that Analysts using the Free Analysis queries in Bex would generally have access to all KPIs.

Confidentiality Agreement

● We need to sign NDA with Syngenta.

● We would be having access to highly sensitive Syngenta Data, at all times ensure appropiate controls.

● Report Mock ups, etc should not be shared outside this project.

● Try & keep very less MRH project specific documents on Infosys Laptop.
