Note
Hynek tells this reporter that he has never seen a UFO. It is just another example of Hynek saying one thing in one situation, and its opposite in another.

Note
These "UFO photos" are from the book "The Edge of Reality" by Hynek and Vallee, and are clearly attributed to Hynek. They had appeared in Hynek's earlier book "The UFO Experience," with the cagey statement, "These are two photographs for which I can absolutely vouch."

This is from a little Fortean journal that used to be published by a Canadian researcher who called himself "Mr. X." I met him several times at the Fortfest conventions in Washington, DC around 1975-1980. He has a web page at http://www.resologist.net/ . Note that this appears to refer to a different Hynek UFO sighting than the one where photos were taken out the airplane window!

Note
This is the one page report for Dr. Hynek's UFO sighting from Canada, where he reportedly saw a UFO pursued by a jet. This page is on-line at http://bluebookarchive.org/page.aspx?PageCode=MAXW-PBB66-1132 Thanks to Isaac Koi for sending it.

Note
This is an article on 'vanishing UFO evidence' by Adrian Vance, and he tells how Hynek simply "lost" the originals. Some may see a conspiracy here, but if you knew Hynek you would not be too surprised. Vance is incorrect when he repeats what he was told by an unnamed source: that the original copies of the Heflin and McMinnville negatives are lost. I know that the McMinnville negatives still exist, and have not heard anything about the Condon report's copies of Heflin's UFOs 'going missing.'
